Visited while in burlington last weekend. Made a point to check it out before i left town. Glad i did.

Very cool space. I was told it used to be a mcdonalds restaurant and you can tell after being in there. The bar is what used to be the register, so not a ton of seats there. However, great use of the outdoor space and very well decorated. Nice vibe for drinking some beers.

Multiple taps for Hill Farmstead, one for a Lawson's brew, and plenty of Heady Topper cans. That alone should warrant a visit while in Burlington. Other standouts for me was SN Foam and Stillwaters Premium.

A bit pricey for Burlington, but if you want to source some hard to find local brews definitely worth stopping by.

Great selection of beer. Decent food. Downtown location. What else could you want?

Go early, if you can. Got there at 4, it was packed by 6 (Wednesday night). Great beer selection, particularly VT beers, frequent rotation. Can't talk about the entrees, but the appetizers and salad I had were above average (blue cheese toast: a wasn't crazy about the sweet and savory, but others at the table loved it, charcuterie: above average, nothing daring, mushroom and chicory salad: best of the bunch, well seasoned, good combination of greens and veggies). Service couldn't be better. Knowledgeable server, came back when needed, but not too often. The only other minor kvetch was the atmosphere. A bit on the boring side, nothing to separate it from the run of the mill trending gastropub. A bit loud, too. Prices were reasonable and they do 6 oz pours.

Worth a return visit.

Incredible line-up of Vermont beers, great food, great atmosphere. Got there for lunch mid-week so seating was not a problem at all. Very friendly and clean place, quite impressed with everything they had to offer.

Very good selection of premium craft brews. The food is great too. Go in the summer when you can enjoy the beer garden, or downstairs in the winter in front of the fireplace!

Stopped here for lunch, a flight and a pint. It was delicious and would definitely go back. Little pricey from a food perspective but totally worth it.

The place gets packed quickly. Fortunately there's a great hang downstairs - you can get finger foods and find an awesome beer from a very good taplist while you wait for your table upstairs. The food upstairs is great farm to table items, and the same taplist from downstairs applies. Overall, great place - and is a must-go if in the area.

Awesome bar and really good food. If your time in Burlington is limited, and you are both hungry and in search of some hard to find local brews, this place is a perfect one stop shop. It's a little expensive, but worth it.

(Really thought I reviewed this when I was here in 2013)

One of my favorite bars! The downstairs is a cozy cold winter dream to me, with fantastic beer to boot. The food menu is unique, and tasty at that. Service is great, and the staff if VERY knowledgeable.

Sat at the bar on a cold November night. Packed house at 7:00 on a Friday night. Tacked into a Lawsons Sip of Sunshine....delicious. Has a cheese plate, a meat plate, bread and oysters. And more beer. Left extremely happy. If you only have time for one meal in Vermont this is the place.

Very nice place. Good atmosphere. Nice, knowledgeable staff. Lots of different beers on tap. Wide selection that seems to be almost exclusively local foods. You can't go wrong.
This place is worth it during any visit to Burlington. They have a great selection of beers on tap from all over the place (including all the 'big' ones from VT). The food is excellent and well-suited to a beer place. The Cheddar Ale soup is excellent. The burgers are very good and everything else looked outstanding.
The menu is not insanely varied. Burgers, a few entrees, some apps and cheeses. The desserts are very good as well. It is perhaps a touch expensive compared to some places, but there is no question in my mind that it is worth it (and I'm a cheap bastard...).
Looking at the menu it feels like there should be another page, but beer's the reason to be there anyway, and as far as that goes, the hardest part is picking!
Always worth a stop. Fabulous!

Great beer selection and great food! My brother and I went there on a Monday night for drinks and then Tuesday for lunch. They had a great bottle and draft selection. I love places that do 1/2 pours of their drafts because I got to try more!!

We sat at the bar both times. The daytime bartender remembered us from the night before. Probably because not too many people wear Redskins jerseys in Burlington. The bartenders were very nice and provided great service.

For lunch, I got a salad with chicken and cranberries. It was AWESOME!!

If you are in Burlington, eat here. Great tap list, with flights available. The food is excellent. The mussels were as good as any I've had, and the onion rings are just as good as one previous reviewer said. The food is pricey, but I didn't experience the small portions someone was complaining about. Excellent, knowledgeable service as well. I'd definitely go again if I come back to Burlington.

Stopped in for a quick drink on our way out of Vermont.

It's a nice place, service was good, doesn't look like a whole lot on the inside, though.

They had Sip of Sunshine, so that's a big plus. About 25-30 taps, all very interesting stuff, including some unknown (to me) stuff from Canada. That's cool! The food looked amazing, but I didn't sample.

The prices were a bit of a drag, very expensive, but a place like this almost always has prices like that.

They do let you know on the menu what the upcoming taps are for each line- that's something I wish more bars did.

Stopped in for a few beers while in town for the weekend. We sat at the smaller inside bar, about 10 stool's. Apparently they also have a Beer Garden outside with more bar seating. The restaurant was busy and everyone was raving about their food. Beer selection was outstanding and they listed the next beer up in their menu because they frequently run through kegs on the weekend. I had a few pints of Hill's Farmstead and Lost Nation and they were fantastic. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. Great staff and service.

This place takes pride in everything they do from a wide beer selection to the most comforting of foods. One thing worth mentioning is that they have mastered the craft of the onion ring in that when you only bite half of a ring, the whole onion doesn't come out. It's true bliss. And if you haven't experienced this before, it's worth the hike to VT.

Oh ya, and the farmhouse burger with the egg on it is top class.

There's two stories to Farmhouse, amazing beers at a pretty reasonable price for the quality and the ridiculously overpriced, small portion food.
I love the beer, I love the service. I dig the atmosphere, although it can get very loud.
The issue I have is not so much that the food is expensive, it is. But I dont mind paying top dollar for great food. Ive had a cheese platter that was a few small pieces of cheese a literal smear of spread on the board and a couple crackers and they charged $14. That's just an example. So for me, I love the beer but will not eat there.

Our visit here was on a very busy Memorial Day weekend so some of what I say about the service should take that into consideration. It started out very slow, to the point that my husband finally stopped a waitress and asked if we had a server in our area. She was nice enough to take our drink orders but got very defensive when I wanted to know what herbal teas they had to offer. So off to a bad start but thank heavens the food made up for it. Once our order was taken the food arrived in fast order and was absolutely delicious. My husband had the gnocchi with a beet sauce which was lovely. Son had the meatloaf and I had the fish and chips. Meatloaf was delicious and fish and chips was very good. The guys also spilt a piece of rhubarb pie which was very good. Beer selection was excellent and that combined with the great food made this a very enjoyable experience. The noise level was quite loud but all in all we would return here if ever in Burlington again.

Stunning. Whoever decided to put a piece of pork belly on top of a burger deserves a kiss. The onion rings? Phenomenal, yes even for an onion ring. Heady Toppy and Hill Farmstead Edward during lunch. Great beer selection including many locals that someone from NJ would never find locally. Staff was very knowledgable of all beers, appetizers and entrees. A must visit for anyone traveling to VT, and hands down one of the best beer selections ever, including heady topper, several hill farmstead, many other locals beers, great section from the bruery, and others.

A great place for food and beer in Burlington. A narrow, canopied entry with the bar upn ahead on the right. One large room. The place is busy, so it's noisy, but still possible to have a conversation.

A phenomenal tap list. Over twenty beers on tap, all of them beers I would like to drink (which made the selection process quite difficult). I finally chose Hill Farmstead Edward, and was more than happy.

My family is vegan. There were vegan foods on the menu, as well as vegetarian foods that can be made vegan. I had Hoppin Joe with black-eyed peas and kale. Excellent. My wife had a black bean burger which she enjoyed. Our son had hummus and a quinoa appetizer, and they were quickly eaten.

We were there early, but the restaurant was packed. Despite this our service was excellent.

Will definitely return.

I visited The Farmhouse October 2013 on a family vacation. Of course my motivation to visit was for the beer. They had Heady Topper, Abner, George, Edward, and a Lawson's beer all on tap/can when I visited. These beers are non existent where I live (Florida). I tried them all and was in heaven. However, in addition to the beer the food was terrific (Had the burger and meatloaf). Way beyond what I expected. It was so good that we ate there twice in 3 days.

The atmosphere was comfortable with an average wait time. The great thing about waiting is that you can visit the beer garden out back before dinner.

I highly recommend this place if you are in Burlington.

Our visit was a rather large group of college students and parents. The staff informed us to arrive at a specific time for seating; we only waited 5 minutes, just enough time to order a beer. The appetizers of locally sourced cheese was wonderful. The meals, nearly all sourced from local farms, was outstanding. The beer selection, from around the world, fantastic. The wait staff, attentive with a realistic Vermont kindness. Looking forward to our next visit!

Overall my favorite place to eat and drink craft beer. Outstanding selections of beer, wine and cider. The food and service is always excellent. The parlor is a relaxing spot to grab a drink and wait for a table. If you enjoy craft beer and great food from local farms this is the place to go, be prepared to wait, but the parlor will warm you up for the main event.
