On my second trip to a Liquor Store from Ballwin, MO, came to find this one on my Google Maps list (and also from BA). On the outside of this Tan, Shed Liquor store, I see the sign (after passing it once already), "Lion's Distinctive Wine Room". I said to myself, cool! Where there is wine, there is even better beer. Lets walk in...
I come inside to find the ENTIRE beer cooler and isle being re-finished. The staff were very pleasant and more than welcome to help me out with anything other than KBS and rare beers. I picked up a Smuttynose IPA 6-pack and continued on my journey. The staff here wee very happy that I found this location and were even more enthused that it came off of the BeerAdvocate side. At the time, their selection was only A.B., Coors, Miller, Schlafly, Smuttynose, Sierra Nevada, He'brew, and Tommy Knockers.
I look forward to checking out this place in the near future! Awesome staff and looks as though they are creating more room for more craft brews. Always a positive in my book!

I have went into Lions Liquors several times. I actually drive about an hour to get here. Clay and his staff have always been very kind, courteous and knowledgable.
A year ago they had a decent selection of Craft beer... Today thats a different story! They have a top notch selection now. The best thing is the Craft beer is the first thing you see. Coolers full of craft beer and a long isle filled. They have just a single cooler with the miller, budlight and such in it. All different types of beer, brands and sizes. They carry Bombers, 4 packs, 6 packs and such.
Founder, bells, Goose island, magic hat, deschute, Rogue, Sierra Nevada Stone... this is just to name a few.
I grabbed a Sixer of Expedition Stout and headed out. There was still some Bigfoot there today.
BM me if you have an question of the location or have a question about it!
Clay! Thank you for your commitment to the Selection of Craft beer! Hope to visit you again soon!

Passing through town, stopped in here to check it out. Lions Liquors is a pretty small shop, but packs in a few quality beers in the coolers. Four cooler doors of exclusively craft beer, nice to see in a smaller town, though it was 50% of the overall selection. The warm shelves opposite the coolers were looking pretty empty, there were a few glassware sets of Chimay, and some overstock sixers from the coolers.
Singles of Double Trouble, Arcadia Hopmouth, Goose Island Demolition, New Belgium 1554, bombers of Rogue, Laughing Dog Black IPA, Schlafly 20th Hop Toddy and Reserve Imperial Stout. Sixers from Schlafly (x8), Sam Adams (x10), Founders (x4), New Belgium (x6), Bells (x2), Arcadia (x2) and some random imports from Chimay, Lindemans, Hofbrau, and Sam Smith.
The cashier was friendly and mentioned they do frequent beer & wine tastings in the back room, where there was a tasting bar with some tables. Also of note here was a number of local wines from small regional wineries.
If you're looking for a nicer place to eat nearby, Firefly Grill was a cool place that specializes in local and sustainable food (somewhat pricey). They had Double Trouble, Crown Valley Porter, Schlafly Summer Lager, and Oberon there, though not much else.
