Pretty interesting place right in the middle of downtown Ft. Collins...literally only about 50 yards from Coopersmith's and connected to the homebrew shop, Hops & Berries.
When you walk in, instead of a beer tasting room, you feel like you're in a coffee shop. The walls are a pretty odd pastel green, there are lots of small tables, and the bar is tucked into the back corner. Interesting deviation from pretty much any other tasting room I've ever been in.
My wife and I grabbed the sampler, which offers a healthy mix of styles: pale/golden, brown, ESB, weizen, IPA, and porter. All of them had a solid amount of substance and I'd say the brown and porter were personal favorites. They're definitely pretty liberal with their hops and I'd say they remind me a tiny bit of Odell's pilot beers. No big beers or anything off the wall to be had, but no issues either. No matter where your tastes lie, I think you'd be pretty happy. If anything, the beers might taste a hair too universal, but they're still excellently crafted.
Prices were low and yup, the infamous 1/2 pint (which I really like) is here.
There's a fair amount of room, a railing for standing on crowded days, and the staff was friendly.
While there's nothing revolutionary about Equinox, the atmosphere is very different from any of the other places in town and I can imagine it might be a pretty relaxed place to hang out instead of doing the circuit of breweries in Ft. Collins. If anything it reminds me a little of the Colorado Boy out in Ridgway.
Not the first place I'd hit in town, but the location is a good one and it's different enough to be a great fit.

EDIT: A future visit revealed a much larger line-up of beers and they now have 10 or more taps. However I'm still a tiny bit underwhelmed. There are no issues with any of the beers, but none of them really gave me much reason to revisit it. I don't know how to explain it, but they just seem to lack pizazz.
