Stopped here on recommendation. Tried a flight of beers which were good, although I do remember liking their porter best. Place had a homey feel, not too big and not too small (although it could be with a large crowd). I picked up a few bottles of the barley wine and left yet another potential up and comer on the Colorado beer scene. It is worth a stop especially with Coopersmith's not far away.

Great spot in Fort Collins, and worth a drive if you are in the Denver metro area for anything. Two entrances/exits, and the space is like two hallways, one twice as long as the other. The first one, on the left, walks you past some wooden bar seating as you make your way to the main bar, which wraps around into the second hallway/space. Long, cement poured bar. Slick. All the way out back, there is patio seating. Also, there is a small stage on the right hand side for live music. There is also some table seating here and there. Very bright and clean all the way through. Great spot. Beer to go in multiple growler forms...standard glass 64 oz, double lined metal and ceramic 64 oz that will remain cold 24 hours, and a plastic growler at 83ish oz. Great staff, great beer, all in a great town. Awesome place.

Bartender is yet another of my future ex-wives, I'm SO in love! She knew more about beer than virtually all my guy friends. Don't think this is a purely male dominated sport!

Beer was exceptional in every way. Clientele was also exceptional, in that I met a lot of really cool (albeit tree-hugging hippee type) people in this place. Certainly would be irresponsible of me to NOT recommend this place when you come through Ft Collins tho. The super-dry IPAs are half the fun!

Currently undergoing much needed expansion, can be very crowded on Friday and Saturday night when live music scheduled. The line can get long, try the window on the north side of the bar. The small outdoor beer garden is a great place to sit and enjoy a enjoy a great beer. Great selection of beers. Try the Space Ghost IPA, one of the best I have ever had. Jason's recipe of dunkel is also a favorite of mine. The pour staff are great. Happy to answer any questions about the beer. Friendly local hangout.

One of the best, if not the best, micros (in terms of beer quality) I have ever been too. Each beer seems crafted with an extreme amount of care and attention to detail. My only complaint would be they don't seem particularly adventurous in their brews, and usually stick to pretty recognized standards. This may also be one of their strengths though as the several beers that I've had over the last few months from Equinox have been outstanding examples of their respective styles. Can get busy and very cramped on the weekend, but the beers definitely make it worth rubbing elbows. Staff (What up Tyler?) is usually very friendly, but they will ignore you if they're talking to one another which is a little annoying. No food, but sometimes there is a cart outside.

They've won multiple medals at GABF, most recently a Gold for their Night Ryder Munich Dunkel in 2012. Their beers rotate constantly, but everything I've had is exceptional. Every Thursday at noon they tap a new firkin conditioned with a typically unusual ingredient (butterfingers, habaneros, mushrooms) - and it usually goes fast. The Space Ghost IPA is a favorite.

last stop on the Fort Collins tour

A bit of a dark interior but a nice bright back patio with a number of tables available and an open view back into the brewing facility.

Sampled a number of things, quality just not on par with the big boys in town. This is a distant 3rd on the to-do list. The barrel aged brown was pretty weak and the hoppy offerings varied in quality.

went for a beer after stopping in over at hops and berries. had a brown ale. the attisphere was a wonderful relaxed brew pub style in their beer garden. i would deffinately recommend stopping in for a drink or tasting session they had two wonderful setups for tasting trays one with 6 styles and the other with 5.

- Been here twice and had a great time both experiences. Beers are high quality and atmosphere is really great. Although the beer is great it unfortunately stands in the shadow of all the high profile and world class breweries in the area, to which if it were somewhere else it would probably have more notoriety... Sorry.

I visited Equinox 07/27/13 while on vacation. This place was initially on my "may visit if time permits" list of places to visit in Ft. Collins, but after speaking with the guys at Rambo's Longhorn Liquor Mart in Estes Park I decided to make it a "must visit" priority. Good recommendation from those guys! Place is very small and frankly, not much to look at. It's a bit dark and drab, but after we sampled some beer it didn't matter anyway. We didn't know about the patio until after we left. There is no food, but that area is loaded with great restaurants. They don't greet you at the door or seat you and they don't serve you at your table - had to figure this out for myself by observation. I noticed they get lots of growler business. They have flights ($8 or $9 I think they were) - a "standard" and a "specialty". My bro-in-law and I got one of each. Every one of the 12 beers were very good to excellent. The styles included a pilsner, dark strong, witbier, altbier, brown ale, Scottish ale, American pale ale, Belgian pale ale, dunkelweizen, IPA, porter, and imperial stout. The beers are presented in recommended sampling order. Flip style guides containing notes for the flights sit at each table - very nice. We also had their Space Ghost IPA which is just fantastic. The place itself is...meh. The beer is excellent. Go here if you want great flavorful brews.

Went to Equinox after eating at Coopersmith's just as I was advised. It is within walking distance and you will probably have to use the parking structure nearby which cost $2 for the couple od hours that we ate, drank, and shopped. Not bad.

The place is small but there are plenty of booths, tables, and stools at the bar. Take your pick. We sat at a booth in the room adjacent to the bar. I got up and bought my beer at the bar. I guess that's what you do. The bartender was the only one working. Not too busy. I guess we missed the lunch crowd. She was friendly and so were the patrons: all eager to talk about beer. Ft. Collins has some good breweries and that's what brings me here. Everybody was a local and the consensus was that this was their favorite place to drink excellent beer.

I guess I hung out at the bar too long...I didn't bring my dog but I guess that they are dog friendly. There is a little patio on the west side. I had a Zenith IPA. I thought it was very good and I would rate it high and recommend it. Sorry I couldn't stay longer.

The beer selection is their beers, 16 on tap and two that are in casts and have to be pumped out. What? I will have to find out more and go back. They don't have any guest beers or anything else to drink. It's a brewery. I know that. But...almost outstanding.

There is no food here so fill up at Coopersmith's. I recommend this place and "I'll be back". Right now it's off to New Belgium.

Great variety. Stouts to light wheats. Firkin Thursday's are always fun. Tappings are at noon and last until the firkin is empty. Patio is nice especially on warm or hot days. Jonas Porter is my fav.

Atmosphere: This is probably the best thing about this place. The people and the vibe are really great. Very mellow and welcoming.

Quality: Great beers. I have only been a few times and have had tried specialty stuff but am anxious to see more. I get the feeling I'm just scratching the surface of what they can do.

Service: staff is on their toes and very cool. They remembered my name, and even bought me a round of tasters on my first visit! great people and great beer is a perfect combination.

Selection: They have at least 15 taps, all rotating, keeping it fresh and fun. They don't usually put the same stuff on all the time from what I am told. (which is awesome)

Food: N/A

Great spot, good beer, good people, and great prices. Definitely stop in.

Definitely my favorite brewery in Fort Collins. CooperSmiths pub and brewery is a block away with food, but the better beer is at Equinox. Two small rooms, quite cozy atmosphere and great beer there which is what I care about. Only 1 block from everything else in Old Town Fort Collins. They do close early; they don't want to be a late night spot, said there goal is to having tasting room, not a night spot. They have two sampling flights available. My kids like the growler of Root Beer we got there also.

Definitely a cool little place to sit back and grab a few beers. A very positive, chill vibe to the place. Reminded me of a coffee shop, just offering beer rather than coffee (except when used as an ingredient in the beer). Service was nice though it seemed like everyone in front of me ordered flights which resulted in a short wait to finally order. No biggie. The selection of beer and styles was great as they seemed to cover many grounds from APA to IPA, Stout, to Hefeweizem, to barrel aged porter. Thursdays are Firkin days too (though I was not there on a Thursday). Quality was good but in a town with Odell, Funkwerks, etc. it was not quite on par with the city's best. That said, I really liked their Oatmeal Stout a lot. Overall, really cool place to grab a beer.

This is a nice little place next to a homebrew shop, just off the main College Ave (or Street...whatever). Close to Coopersmiths if that helps.

Anywho, looks small at first, but it has another room to the side with nice comfy chairs and a medium sized porch out back. Bar itself is a bit small, and since I went there early in the afternoon I'm not sure if they have wait-staff.

But, the beers are good to good-good. Friendly staff, but it seemed they liked the music playing more than the customers. hard to order and ask questions. True, the Dead was playing...but i was thirsty.

Several books and table games available. The aroma from the brewing facility permeates, which is awesome, but a bit tough to make out what's in my glass. No worries, I drank it anyway

A little, hole-in-the-wall place that is focused on the beer.

My wife and I stopped in about 30 minutes before closing on a Thursday evening. There was a decent crowd with everyone seemingly enjoying the beer selections and conversing over jam band tunes.

We grabbed a small table and I went up to the bar to order a Jonas Porter. They also had a to-go bottling of their "Midwinter Warmer", so got one to take back home for later enjoyment. The gal behind the bar was courteous, quick, and efficient.

Like I mentioned above, this little place is about the beer. There didn't appear to be any food offerings, which is fine. And there also appears to be some staff that will check on the tables, so one doesn't necessarily have to go to the bar to order.

The music was piped in while we were there, yet it wasn't so load that you couldn't talk with the rest of your party at the table. There was a bit of art pieces hanging on the walls. They apparently host live music gigs on occasion.

There were way more beers and I would have liked to have tried, but time wasn't on my side at this time. Still, the one draft porter was good enough that I'll be back later to spend more time here. Not a place for atmosphere or pub fare, but a nice little small brewery where one can knock back some craft brews and spend some quality time socializing with like-minded friends and family.

Located right off Old Town. One of my many stops on my latest trip to Fort Collins.

I stopped by here twice on my trip. The first time was for a couple beers and I honestly wasn't very impressed. I had tried their Farmhouse and their Red Ale, neither of which I was fairly impressed with. The service was pretty crappy, and I ended up having to go to the bar to order when I needed a beer. I'm glad I went back. On the second trip, it was a bit slower and we found seats at the bar. We were promptly greeted and informed what the specials where. We had our first round within a minute or so. I decided to try other things and started with a dark witte that was on cask. The cask was fantastic. Perfectly executed. I'm always surprised by American casks done well. The bartender recommended a couple other beers, all of which I tried and all of which I really enjoyed. Their imperial brown was great along with their yearly barleywine and a dubbel that was brewed in conjunction with the brewing school at Colorado State. Even when they had a line that went almost to the doors looking for growlers, the bartenders were very attentive and talkative with us. Overall, I really want to go back. I think the second visit was much more indicative of normal experiences.

This place has a great feel to it. Three separate sections - excluding the bar - to get cozy in. Pleasant lighting, quiet music (i.e. you can have a conversation with the people across the table without losing your voice).

The beer is great, and there's a lot to choose from. By "great," I mean it's delicious. Serving over 10 rotating brews, they keep things fresh. Seems like they update the tap list every week. I'm always eager to see what they've got flowing!

If you're on your way through Fort Collins you've got to stop here. Great beer, great environment.

Stopped in with the wife after lunch one Wednesday. On the rare days we are both off work and the kids are in daycare, we will often do a brewery tour of Fort Collins. This trip, we hit NBB, Odells, Funkwerks/Crooked Stave, then lunch at Choice City, then a final stop at 'the new place' (Equinox). It was a short walk from Choice City to Equinox and I'm so glad we decided to make this final stop. It was the best of the day and likely our first stop on our next trip.

Located next door to a homebrew shop in a non-descript single story building. The entry leads into a a small seating area with a few tables that leads to a small bar. The interior is dark, crisp and clean. An opening next to the bar leads to a much larger seating area with a couple set back areas for greater privacy. Down a hallway are the bathrooms and a door to an outside beer garden (again, done clean, crisp, and classy).

We sat at the bar, which was rather small in proportion to the rest of the seating, but was open on this Wednesday after lunch. The bartender was friendly, personable, and quite knowledgeable about the brewing operation. There was a large selection (perhaps 10-12 beers on tap), including a couple porters and a couple hoppy beers. We split a sampler and all the beers were great.

Upbeat music was playing at an acceptable level to be heard, but not burden conversation. The bartender took us in back for a quick tour, which was a nice treat. Upon our return, a new customer was sitting in my seat chatting it up with an employee and my hat and our beers had been moved to a new location down the bar. It gave me the weird feeling that 'regulars' have more preference than other guests.

Regardless, Equinox Brewing is the highest priority stop on our next beer tour of Fort Collins. If you are in town, I recommend this as a must stop.

Visited Ft Collins this spring to visit a friend. Went to a few breweries and discovered this one when we arrived. It is in a regular store front relatively nondescript. We tried almost all of what they had on tap. The selection was very good. They had many beers on tap to try and you where able to get tastes of any. All of the beers we tried were good. They had a special gong when we were there. It was March and they were brewing with a different mushroom each week. We did not try the one for that week, but it was a interesting concept. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. They were ready and wiling to answer questions or make suggestions.
I also purchased a shirt since they had nice ones. It was a nice place and should be checked out during any Ft Collins brewery hop.

Visited Equinox in August 2011 after a less than satisfactory visit to Choice City in Fort Collins. Tried everything they had on tap and I was VERY happy with their selection of brews! If I remember correctly they had 14 or 15 on tap, which included a firkin. They have two options for beer samplers, and we had them both. Samplers are great to share between a few people if you have the opportunity to! Unfortunately, it seems very few breweries down in Fort Collins have brewpubs and we found out that it's some local law that is very hard to get around. However, despite the lack of a menu, Equinox does serve good beer drinkin' snacks! General chips, crackers, pretzels...if you are really hungry, find a local place to hit up before or after coming to Equinox.

Highly recommended if you are in the Fort Collins area. Also, they have nice artwork there...I'm actually wearing one of their shirts as I write this review. Go on down...service was great and the beers were memorable which is really saying something when you drink 126 samplers in a week!

Stop #251 on my world brewery tour.

Located in a low brick building in historic downtown Ft. Collins next to a very small homebrew shop (same owners).

Very cozy interior with brick, wood, and a front lounge areas with a big table and board games. Small garden patio out back with the ~8 bbl. custom built brewery exposed when the garage door is open.

We split a sampler and had our world rocked by a roughly 2 oz pour of a ghost chili beer. I spoke with the asst. brewer who told me they used 10 dried ghost chili's in a 3 gallon batch (dry hopped). We struggled mightily to get it down with no avail - and we like spicy food!

Other beers were all solid. Really like the beers and atmosphere here. Wish I had taken better notes on the rest of the beers.

Maybe my favorite brewery in town. Small setup, almost has a coffee shop feel with plenty of seating, board games, plenty of reading, and a nice little bar, too. Its wood aesthetic also might bring a pub or two to mind.

It's never overly crowded and the staff is very friendly. It also has a nice beer garden in the back that's open whenever the weather is nice. Quite a nice place to hang out with friends, have a pint, fill a growler, try a taster, or just relax.

Prices are a little steep ($9 for a growler, $7 for a taster tray), but the beer is more than worth it. The brews are a great selection, and the astronomical theme is a great bonus. I don't think I let more than two weeks go by without a visit, and this is a fairly small town with eight or nine breweries in it.

We stopped into Equinox after a visit to the horrendous Choice City (which we only really went to because Equinox doesn't serve food). Such a breath of fresh air! (And beer.)

Very nice, tidy, and intimate, dimly lit and inviting. A small bar that seats, hmm, maybe ten people, and enough tables to entertain a small crowd. Our bartender was one of the nicest I've ever encountered, and she knew her stuff too. Beer selection--for a micro--was very good, with nearly 15 house brews on tap, including a cask and even a firkin, which seems to be the theme of a weekly event. Again, no food other than little bags of pretzels. Kind of a downer, but not really a problem. Prices were just fine.

Nice place. Recommended if you're in the area. Nice artwork too.
