Hopulent IPA is a big beer with lots of complex malt flavor and excessive hops. This beer will have changes to the grain bill and seasonal hop changes. The character of Hopulent IPA is over the top, too much of everything—a real HOP HEADS DELIGHT!

on tap at The Pig in DC
an IPA on Nitro (?)
slight metal after-taste
liked the mouthfeel of being on Nitro. seemed a bit more "cask-like" lacked the bite of the co2 which I liked

Poured from a bomber (Release #94) into a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, golden-copper coloring, with a tall, frothy, dense, foamy, off-white head. Aromas of tart grapefruit and richly sweet tropical fruits, pine tassel, grass, hops resin and bitter, and subtle notes of caramel sweetness in the backbone. Hop heavy for sure. Flavors are very piney and grassy forward, with an extremely tart, almost astringent, grapefruit and lemon citrus blend in the backbone. Tropical fruit notes help smooth out with sweetness, with a solid current of pine pitch, hop oils, and cut grass. Pepper spices throughout, too. This is a tour for your palate, but a damn tasty one. The body is smooth and rich, but kept fairly light by the carbonation, helping the drinkability. The aftertaste is all bitter and resin, with a steady hops linger well after each sip. Bittering and piney notes linger on into the dry, lasting finish. This is a big beer, but it is right up a hop lover's pipe!
