Notes/Commercial Description:
Copper Cone Pale Ale is a special offering, aroma rich, pale ale that may vary the hops, malts and even sometime the yeast used. Typically this beer is an “over the top” Pale Ale with a deep copper color and loads of dry hopping going into each batch. The fresh hop aroma of this beer makes it a stand out.

Poured into an imperial pint glass a slightly hazed burnt orange with a tight formed one finger white head that left a solid ring of lace as it settled slowly into a frothy mass.A mix of caramel/biscuit malt and sharp grapefruit-like hops in the nose, good balance.Sweet biscuit malts play a big role on the palate up against a healthy doe of citri and piney hops,a well balanced beer to me true to APA form. This a solid pale with a great hop profile that doesnt get out of control,a very nice beer in my opinion.

Great burnt orange pour with a initially sturdy head that left about half way through the pint. Beige lace left behind. Hop/citrus aromas apparent upfront. Carbonation was light but great hop flavor, not too harsh. Nice body and finish no slick, syrupy, sweetness. Aftertaste is pleasant and doesn't linger for hours. Overall very refreshing on a hot Spring day.

22 oz bottle, release #8 - 6.8%. Pours a hazy dark copper with a medium frothy creamy white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is caramel and crystal malts with resiny piney hops.

The flavor is sweet caramel malts with grapefruit and resiny hops leading to a pretty surprisingly big , slightly charred, bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation, slightly watery.

Overall, a very nice Pale ale. Probably one of the hoppier and better ones I've had. This is probably more of an IPA.

hazy deep burnt amber hue with about two fingers of sticky white head. Pungent hoppy piney nose with undertones of caramelized citrus and grapefruit.

Thick syrupy mouthfeel, sweet big caramel and pale malts up front followed by a big juicy fruity hop profile. Just enough carbonation to break flavors apart while holding them all together. Great balance, simple but big bold flavors that come together and blend nicely. To call this beer a pale ale though at 6.2%? Well yes, flavors are of that of a big pale ale, at no time does this beer get overwhelming, its just enough, in all the right the places.

(22oz bottle from Total Wine Desert Ridge. Batch 12, 6.8% abv ). Pours a hazy dark copper color with off-white head. Some lacing developing as the head dissipates. Carbonation is quite active. Aroma has some dank hops, resin, bread, and a touch of orange. Taste is malty sweet, but not overdone. There is also a bit of sharp bitterness. Medium bodied with oily texture. Bitter finish. Pretty nice beer, but I prefer Epic’s Spiral Jetty with a similar abv. If this was in the 5 percent range, this would be a good session beer. Still, I do like this beer.

Appearance: Hazy, still some yeast floating around, good lasting head

Smell: Piney pellet hops, with caramel malt

Taste: great hop malt balance, slight fruity yeast, sweet complex malt, nothing notable with the hop taste or smell.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, good carbonation. The only thing holding this back is the lack of hop aromatics and hop complexity. I would be surprised if there were any fresh whole cone hops in here. Needs more time to clear, this yeast is like ex-lax.

Release #7

A: A dirty orange is dense in the glass offering some cardinal red highlights. The head is sandstone in color, a finger high, with a initial one part creamy, one party frothy head that was fairly withstanding. A light slow rise of effervesce is detected within.

S: For aroma there are strong indications of fresh pine scents mingling with a caramel sweetness. Good show of strength.

T: The flavor was dry pine, grapefruit peel set against a dry toasted grain backing. Toasty dry, strong hop offering, flowery citrus that has some oily resin moments. The beer starts dry and toasted and finishes much the same way while there are intermittent instances of caramel sweetness that peeks out mid-way.

M: fairly sharp, but not crisp, rather oily with a malty fullness that left a good bite of bittering citrus behind.

O: Overall a high level of hops, bordering on ipa standars, big malty body makes for a fulfilling pale. Not your typical crisp summertime offering, but rather more suited as a fall beer with a slightly high 6.9%abv that will limit this in numbers no doubt. Worthy by the bomber.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of pine and resin hops with light dry caramel malt base. Taste is also a mix between some resin and pine hoppy notes with some dry caramel malt. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed and quite enjoyable with pretty good hops punch for an APA.

#6 and the final bottle.. Wow!! Glad I saved this one for last... Thanks Sam!!

Big foamy khaki head... great retention and lacing... the brew is a hazed copper...

Nose is really nice.. big fruity hops practically jump out of the glass... citrus and tropical... even floral.. tons of stuff going on here... I would guess Amarillo or Simcoe..

Flavor is fantastic... verging on mild DIPA territory for sure.. mirrors the nose with a good malt backbone.. sooo fruity... reminds me of the Flintstone vitamins my mom would make take as a kid... toasty malts play toward the finish and then the lingering hop bomb comes back out swinging.. Body is a very solid medium with a lite and smooth carbonation.

If this had more of a bitter bite out front, I would lobby for DIPA categorization... very impressive.

Thanks again Sam.. I know I am gonna be dumping out alot of cool beer tonight, but I guarantee, I will be finishing this bomber.

For Sam and his boss.... Soooo.... My opinion of Epic Brewing is that it is very solid and if what I hear about the price point is right, then I say definitely get them in... I will be picking this bottle up regularly and pimping it hard in trades.

Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a nice medium red amber with a healthy two finger off white head with good retention and tons of lacing. Aroma of bready, lightly toasted malt with light spicy stone fruit. Flavor is biscuit malt with lighter toasted malt elements, sweet nuts, and light citrus fruit (grapefruit and orange). Finishes with pleasant grassy, somewhat citrus hops. Medium bodied. Flavors are nicely melded and balanced, with neither the malt or hops dominant until the finish. A biscuity, earthy, richly flavored pale ale that leans in color and profile towards a red ale.

A-Red orange (copper) color with an off white almost gray foam.

S-Grassy hop nose

T-Dark fruits and earth.

M-Medium body with a long finish. The mouthfeel is my favorite part of the beer.

O-Not bad. Typical pale ale. I'm a bigger fan of most of the other Epics.
