Served in a DC Brau tulip.

A: Dark, dark, dark and then some. The head was about a 1/4 finger or so and was of a mocha color.

S: Fairly faint roasty coffee notes, but still good.

T: Nice roasty flavor on the forefront, but not much on the aftertaste. Still, this was above serviceable.

M: Creamy enough and nicely done on the mouthfeel front. Ridiculous lacing, but still slippery upon close inspection.

O: Pretty good, especially considering the $5-6 price tag.

Had on nitro draft.

On a 2 part pour a very fine cascade formed, then after waiting and pushing back on the handle to top up, I had a 2 finger khaki head with good damage. The head is super fine and enjoyable with 2 full fingers for nitro in my opinion. Beautiful lacing forms.

The aromais a roasty malt mixed with some black coffee. Simple smooth and very nice.

Taste follows the aroma, but carries a bit more richness. With a cocoa sweetened and with cream sort of taste. There is a bitterness but it stays dark and roasty. Not a lot of hops here. Good stout, just a touch bigger than a guinness but just as crushable.

Again this is a crushable beer. A big head on a nitro draught makes this so creamy its not even funny. Ridiculously drinkable I crushed half of a pint in a fewminutes during a standard session. Smooth roasty, with a mouthcoating maltiness, and long finish.

Overall I was impressed by this beer. I almost passed it by, but with a self pour bad I couldn't give up a chance to pour my first nitro beer, and I gotta say it was worth it.

Had on tap at Lures Bar & Grille. Looks great with cascading nitro bubbles. Smells and tastes of dark roasted malts, bitter chocolate, and coffee. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel.

Pours dark brown, naturally, but light DOES shine through the center of the glass. Smallish head but leaves excellent rings of lace from each sip.

Cream and mocha are the initial impressions of the smell. Lightly chalky.

The flavor is more milk chocolatey than the smell. The body is neutral with an elevated carbonation...similar to the Irish offerings except this doesn't seem like a nitro pour even though it is. This means it's more "carbonated" thank the Irish versions. Overall, it's an easy stout to like but not exceptional.

Appearance is dark, with a modest head. The aroma is either lacking, or maybe just subtle. The taste is cocoa, if it's anything. It's awfully sweet for a stout, without much roasted malt character. It's kind of like a halfhearted milk stout. It's OK, I guess, but not much more than that.
