A dark, full-bodied and drinkable beer, Galloway Porter highlights rich roasted chocolate and coffee-like malt flavors and aromas. It has a very mild hop addition so that the chocolate malt flavor can shine through.

Picked this one up at a Utah state liquor store on the way to San Diego last month, as the price (less than 4 bucks a bomber) was right. Poured a dark brown color with a nice big light brown head. Aromas of chocolate, toffee and roasted malt. Medium bodied and slightly astringent, with flavors of chocolate, roasted malt and toffee.

22 ounce bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. A nose of sweet chocolates, coffee lots of malts. The flavor is smooth and easy; milky chocolates, coffee, fresh roasted flavors. A nice easy-drinking porter. A good brew to have on hand in the cellar!

Appears dark brown with a medium sized tan head.

It smells slightly of toffee, chocolate and coffee.

It tastes much like it smells. There is a nice toffee sweetness that is balanced with a nice roasted malt flavor. There are very mild hints of coffee and chocolate present. Pretty descent flavor: it is stereotypical porter.

It has medium carbonation.

The drinkability is good about average for they style. I made it through the bottle quite easily.

Overall a nice tasting porter though it is uninspired in my opinion. It's worth picking up though if you feel like a classic porter.

22 Oz bottle from the Brewery poured into a goblet.

Appearance: A nice solid brown with hints of garnet on the edges. The tan head receded quickly to a ring with patches.

Smell: Yeasty with the slightest hint of alcohol. Roast smells as well.

Taste: There is no hop flavor to speak of. I get a nice crisp roasted flavor from the malt. There might be a slight yeastiness to the taste as well. This is a pretty dry porter.

Mouthfeel: The carbonation is medium, while the feel is non intrusive.

Drinkability: This comes from Epic brewing in SLC. All of Epic's beers are above 4.0 ABV, which is a limit in Utah to be under to be soldl in non-state stores. This is on the lower end of that range so I could easily session this one. The flavors would not induce palate fatigue either, so high drinkability in my book. A porter I will reach for again!

22oz bomber. Picked up in at Brewforia in Meridian, ID
A) Pours with a finger thick head. Tan, tight, creamy and sticky. Mahogany colored body.
S) Bready. Yeasty. Subtle notes of smoked and roasted grains.
T) Mild, smoky taste throughout. Hints of nuts. Just a touch of hops in the finish.
M) Creamy. Smooth. Full bodied. Slightly dry in the finish.
D) A decent porter. I'd have another.

A dark brown beer with amber highlights. Has a nice creamy off white head with some nice lace. A nice sweet malt character dominates the aroma with nutlike notes, a hint of toffee and some coffee lingering in the background. The sweet malt character saturates the tip of your tongue. Leaving the rest of your tongue to bath in the wonderful roasted malt notes. With a even bitterness creating a nice dry finish.
The color of this beer put me off at first. It being lighter than most of the porters I drink. But this is a pleaser.
Thanks John

22oz. Bomber
Classic Series
$3.29 ea.

Pours a dark brown/black color, some carbonation, little fizzy tan head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, slight chocolate/toffee/coffee notes. The taste is malty, slightly sweet, with some chocolate/toffee notes. Medium body. Would not buy this beer again.

22 provided by Inflatablechair.. Thanks Sam.

Pours with a descent tan head... okay retention and lacing... very deep verging on black brew....

Nose is pretty traditional ... lite roast and bits of cocoa... something in there that I associate with vanilla.. hints of nuttiness.

Flavor shows with more roastiness and a lite char... finishes pretty dry... lite dark fruitiness with alot of warmth.. smooth body and lite carbonation... very sessionable.

I tend to not drink alot of porters, but this is nice and I would certainly recommend it... very standard and nothing to complain about... well made.

Another new to me beer... Thanks Sammy.
