A dark, full-bodied and drinkable beer, Galloway Porter highlights rich roasted chocolate and coffee-like malt flavors and aromas. It has a very mild hop addition so that the chocolate malt flavor can shine through.

Beautiful, fluffy tan head. Aromas of chocolate, earthy hops and coffee. Light toasty and smoky flavors. Moderate hops bitterness and earthy flavor. A solid, enjoyable porter.

Look is amazing. Smell is not really be there. This was aged for about 2 years. Taste is a lot smoother than expected, but I feel like all the coffee and cocoa flavor is gone. Either that or that is just the way it is.

Pours a deep sable just a flea’s eyebrow above black with a frothy and fine-bubbled tan head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma has strong woody, nutty, malty, and subtle spicy notes. Flavor has a malty underpinning and nutty, earthy, chocolate, and toffee tones, along with woody, bitter hops. Texture has average weight but plenty of fizz, leaving a woody, earthy finish. A satisfying porter.

Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and slight vanilla aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and char flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice combination of cocoa and char qualities.

Clear very dark brown colored beer with a medium sized brown colored head. Unusually dak for a porter I can't really see light through this one.
Smells strongly of charred grain. Chocolate scent with with some smoke and wheat toast aromas. Slight scent of caramel.
Starts out mildly sweet with a taste of patent malt, slight coffee after taste. Gets sweeter as you drink it there is a strong chocolate taste. Overall this is mainly just mild and easy to drink.
Mouthfeel is good.
Overall this is just a nice regular Porter. Most brewers have a similar beer. It is just meant to be easy to drink and well liked by most. But this doesn't try to be World Class.

Bomber picked up in Michigan and wish we'd gotten more, as this is a very easy drinking beer. Pours a dark chocolate colour with nice ruby tones and a respectable head, with lacing. Aroma of roasted dark and chocolate malts has a nicely sharp edge to it, portending the coffee and light hop bitterness of the finish. Mouthfeel is thin but clean and appropriate for the style. Flavour does not have the initial sweetness I expected and offers a nice malt body, with a hint of caramelization under the roasted chocolate notes. Enough astringency to be interesting, but still a pleasure to drink. Will buy again...
