A full strength and quaffable American lager with a hint of European flavor. Pfeifferhorn lager has a subtle malt flavor, and clean, crisp finish. A fine spicy and slightly herbal noble hop profile which barely lingers on the palate.

No bottling date

Purchased from the dabc for $3.50

Poured at fridge temp into a trumpet Pils glass.

Pours clear golden (where the glass is skinniest) with a thin and bright white head. Settled into a thin ring and cap. 4

Malty and grainy on the nose. Some muted spicy and noble hoppiness - this becomes stronger as the beer warms. 3.75

Taste follows nearly exactly. 3.75

Fairly malty, lingering hoppy aftertaste, quick fading effervescence and light on the palate. Slightly dry finish. 3.5

Overall it's a fair lager with much more flavor punch than one would expect from an AAL or light beer. Definitely more tasty warmer (maybe 40°?) than right out of the fridge. Can see myself picking this one up time and time again. 3.75

Crisp, but unremarkable. Sharp hops instance hides flat malt background. Decent lacing, but appearance is just normal. Taste falls flat after initial hops kick. Average.

Clear gold with a thick head of off-white caviar leaving craggy lacing.

The full, round body exhibits a really nice expression of toasted cornbread with a little herbal bitterness that comes really close to striking within the pilsner vein.

Yum.

This is a light colored beer with a nice head. The nose is a little sharp echoing the abundant hops. Once in my top ten, but has dropped a bit due to several occasions where I was served a rotten bottle, this was probably due to the storage habits of the retailer but nonetheless it has happened 3-4 times. I also believe they have changed the recipe some since first introduced. Still a nice beer that is easy to drink. Recommended.

Light, crisp, golden lager with a little more bitterness than I was expecting. Slight unpleasant alcohol finish.

I am not a huge fan of Pale Lager, most I have quaffed was garbage. Poured into a pint glass at 35 degrees. A one finger creamy and foamy tan head with poor retention. The beer did not leave any lacing. The clarity of the beer is clear with a massive amount of carbonation. The color of the beer is SRM 4 a pale gold color.

I smell DMS this scares me. The initial aromas of the beer are crackers, floral, and a touch of yeast.

The DMS in the beer low and lends to a corn sweetness. Additional flavors in the beer are bready, crackers, floral, yeast, and earthy.

The mouthfeel of the beer is carbonated and crisp. The body of the beer is medium-light, a medium-plus carbonation, a light finish.

The adjunct in the beer makes this beer difficult to quaff. I hate the DMS note in any beer. Alas, I will judge accordingly.

Pours a clear gold with a two finger head that dissipated quickly leaving not much behind. Some lacing. Smell is spicy and malty on the nose a faint Belgian candy as well. Taste is quite nice, nice malt presence and then some spiciness that reminds me of Belgian beer. Very crisp and dry. Good feel, medium body with a lively carbonation.

Wow, this is a nice lager. I quite enjoy the spices and the crispness.

Chill haze and pale yellow with a proudly standing white froth.

Has a complex aroma for a lager. Mostly grass, faint spice, faint candy, and a ton of light fruits and herb.

Waves of grain and hops across the tongue followed by flavors of orange, lemon zest and a drop of honey.
Dry and crisp through and through.

One of the best lagers I've had in a long time, and could see myself killing quite a few of these this summer if they were readily available here.

16oz glass at the tap takeover at Beer Revolution - 8 selections, which is actually more in tune with the concept.

This beer appears a mostly clear, medium golden yellow colour, with one finger of puffy, melted marshmallow bone-white head, which leaves some chunky hovering Casper the friendly ghost lace around the glass as it quickly falls away.

It smells of grainy, crackery, and lightly toasted pale malt, white grape juice, and leafy, floral, and grassy hop bitters. The taste is bready, doughy, and crackery light cereal malts, a further wayward yeastiness, ripe red apple and green grape fruity notes, a tame flinty stoniness, and mild leafy, herbal, and grassy hops.

The carbonation is nice and active in its swirling frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, nothing pushing the matter, as such. It finishes off-dry, the inherent malt sweetness pitching for overtime pay, while the lesser fruit and hop essences start to fade.

Overall, a pleasant and flavourful lager, enjoyed on an unseasonably warm late January day, all sunshine and slushy streets. Anyways, the beer - a well-made version of the style, with a few nods to old-school examples that I am too busy/lazy to research right now.
