Notes/Commercial Description:
We took our double gold medal winning Brainless Belgian, added organic peach puree and aged it in French Chardonnay casks from Sawtooth Winery. Drink from a Pinot glass, serve on the warm side of cold, it develops nicely as it warms displaying more fruit and wine.

Clear peachy pink and gold colored beer with a small white colored head.

Smells of peach and coriander with a Belgian yeast scent of ginger and powdery yeast. Mild scent picking up flowers and pollen and a mild honey scent. Mild sums up the scent no jolly rancher candy level of artificial scent in this one.

Starts out mild with a nice taste of peach with some caramelized sugar flavor. Mild flavors of peach and spearmint with an after taste of bake pie crust. Mild coriander and that is about it, super mild flavored ale, you could serve this to people in hospitals to help them recuperate.

Mouthfeel is medium light.

Overall and excellent light ale. A perfect beer for a brunch or serve with a cold fruit dish. Mildest tasting 10% + beer I have ever tasted.

I had this at an Epic tasting about a week ago. From my notes:

APPEARANCE: Light gold, minimal head.

AROMA: Definite wine/champagne character going on. The peach shines nicely. Floral, fruity, with minimal amounts of yeasty funkiness.

TASTE: Just as expected from the nose. Sweet and tart, with peach and other fruits. Very slight maltiness. Very reminiscent of champagne.

MOUTHFEEL: Like a dry white wine. Lingering bitterness.

OVERALL: A lovely, refreshing beer that I might have to buy a full bottle (or get a full glass) of. Definitely one of the highlights of the tasting.

90/100

22 oz bottle poured into an Epic tulip.
10.5% ABV, Release #34

A - Bright clear goldenrod in color with a cap of soapy white foam, this effervescent beer has little retention and only small dots of lace left stuck to the glass.

S - Brainless on Peaches brainless base beer shines through this beer quite effortlessly as it's spice and light citrus notes overtake the delicate and volatile peach fruit aroma. Undertones of white grape, lemon rind, and grey clay come together nicely but the overall aroma is lacking the complexity that could really set this apart. As this variation warms it releases an unwelcome latex glove-like aroma that's a straight nose-dive.

T - Peaches are all but lost in the flavor profile of Brainless on Peaches. The overarching spicy Belgian yeast profile trumps all while sweet, unfermented pilsner-like malt sticks around for a lingering sugary taste that, with white grapes, quickly becomes cloying.

M - Effervescent at first, the smooth body becomes increasingly sweet with each sip, unchecked by anything but light alcohol dryness that lingers on the tongue with the smallest of balance.

O - Epic's Brainless on Peaches is a very nice Belgian-style beer but it's barrel-aging and fruit additions do little to enhance the experience or justify the price tag (though it's not outrageous to begin with). The peaches' already delicate profile is overwhelmed by the bold sweetness of this beer, not to mention it's spicy yeast esters and, while white grapes come through, little barrel aging shows itself. It's too delicate and the slightly medicinal latex glove aspect that emerges as the beer warms proves to hinder it further. The cherry version is a much better barrel experience while Brainless Raspberries, while not barrel aged, is one of the best fruit beers out there.
