We took our double gold medal winning Brainless Belgian, added organic peach puree and aged it in French Chardonnay casks from Sawtooth Winery. Drink from a Pinot glass, serve on the warm side of cold, it develops nicely as it warms displaying more fruit and wine.

On tap at the new brewery in Denver. This was just as awful if not worse than the brainless on cherries. Yellow color, no head. Terrible aroma of chemicals, alcohol, nasty fruit, yuck. Flavor was more chemicals, alcohol, and just gross. I could not even taste a discernible peach flavor. I can;t believe they are able to actually sell this at all let alone for $12 a bottle. Truly a horrible beer.

[Suggested Glassware: Tulip Glass]

The pour was a hazy golden orange with an average (1-2 finger) white frothy head that quickly diminished, down to a light wispy film and small collar with fair runny lacing.

The aroma was of a light cereal malt and a funky Belgian yeast with notes of overripe peaches, candi sugar, oak cask and a light white wine odor.

The taste was on the mild side with a lightly sweet malty flavor along with a hint of candi sugar and a light peach presence which was present throughout, progressing with a decently strong dose of yeast, a hint of cask and a somewhat bold alcohol tinge at the end. The flavor lasted a long time proceeding the swallow, with the fruity yeasty taste fading almost entirely leaving way for the strong alcohol taste to take over.

Mouthfeel was light in body and mildly dry in texture with a prickly carbonation.

Overall I was expecting a bit more from this beer being it has won a few medals. Although it was decently tasty and easy to drink, the flavor wound up being more about the high alcohol presence than anything else...

Served in a taster at Bittercreek in Boise ID.

A: Clear yellow/gold with whispy white head.

S: Significant Belgian notes and yeasty phenols, mild tartness and peach character, with a good amount of musty funk underlying that fruit character. Some sweeter malt notes poke through as well.

T: Moderate fruity tartness and peach flavors, with some mild pear and white wine characteristics as well. Belgian yeast layered with Chardonnay and funk, bready malt and underlying sweetness.

MF: Well-carbed and relatively full bodied.

O: A decent beer, on-tap it seemed to be 50% Belgian and 50% fruit beer; I would have preffered more peach.

This one surprised me. I was hoping for a true sour, and while this is not that, it does have a mild tartness with a slight barnyard funk/horseblanket edge. There’s a decent amount of complexity, (besides the subtle peach) with graham cracker, vanilla, white grape and clove mingling nicely. Some have complain about its heat, but I find it to be very muted, especially for its strength. The finish is rather mild, but lengthy enough, and pleasantly dry. Although this isn’t a brew I’d choose on a blustery winter’s day, I find it to be the perfect accompaniment for the onset of fall.

Poured into a small tulip at Westover Beer Haus

A decent beer that is right on the edge of being a go to. Maybe it was the moment, but the lack of substantial aroma doomed this beer to a rating of less than 4. Do not worry about the peaches, not overwhelming.

A - Slightly cloudy pale orange, no head (bar pour), no lacing.

S - Faint peach, but little else.

T – Low peach flavor, some slight funkiness, faint sweetness, some tartness/bitterness, a bit of alcohol.

MF -Med light bodied, well carbonated, somewhat sharp.
