This beer is the epitome of Epic’s IPAs. This hard hitting brew manages to pack a punch while still providing that fantastically complex IPA flavor. Slightly floral aromas hit the nose while resinous flavors dominate the body, finishing with the ideal palate cleansing bitterness.

A: Golden yellow in color. Slight haze. Forms a moderate sized off-white head that slowly reduces to a bubbly ring around the edge. Moderate lacing.

S: Aroma is a blend of pale malts, resiny pine, and some lesser citrus notes.

T: Taste falls off a bit. Resiny pine aroma turns a bit skunky. Some lighter pale malts...maybe a touch of biscuit. Alcoholic solvency on the back end.

M: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Mild to moderate bitterness. Alcoholic spice.

O: A decent, but not overly exciting DIPA with a dearth of hops.

This beer pours a Burnt orange color with slight cloudiness that settles. It has a floral nose, but the alcohol is fairly prominent. The taste is bitter throughout with slight notes of caramel. Calm velvety mouth feel with a sharp lingering bitter finish.

Pours a deep cloudy orange with a decent off white head. Smells floral and piney. Tastes bitter with a good malt character that balances out the floral and piney flavors with a nice sweetness. Mouthfeel is thick with a dry finish. Overall this was a solid double IPA.

Pours out a hazed gold, solid inch of thick, off-white head. The lace is sticky, but sparse.

Floral hops and some grain start the smell, pine and grapefruit follow.

The flavor matches the smell pretty much. Well balanced hops and malts, with a bitter, but not overwhelming finish.

Worth a try if you can find it!

Release #33. Pours a medium ambery orange. Quite cloudy. The head is frothy and off-white. Lots of lacing and excellent retention. The aroma is big on tangerine, grapefruit, orange and pine hop notes. There's a fairly strong caramel malt character, more sugar than I'd like but it's not too over the top. A little bubblegum-ish. The taste starts off with sugary malt flavor. There's also a good amount of citric hop flavor. Relatively little bitterness, though the finish has a decent bite. Still too much sweetness. Fairly thick feel. Lasting aftertaste. A little more than booze than I'd like but not too bad. It's a fairly sweet DIPA with too much of a bubblegum caramel flavor to it, but it's still rather tasty. The hops are nice, if somewhat unexciting. The malt sweetness is good enough in and of itself, at least. It's just not how I prefer my DIPAs.
