Release #15, 11.4% ABV, (apparently #1392?)
A: pours dark chocolate to black, thin sustaining head, more at edges, somewhat bubbly
S: chocolaty sweet with typical bittersweet ending to the nose, reminiscent of some coffees. There is a slight hint of bourbon as well.
T/M: starts quite well, bittersweet chocolate, some cherry-cola notes intertwined. Becomes more chocolate in the middle, along with some carbonation and alcohol, including a bourbon taste, some smokiness. The finish is normal fade to a slight bitter espresso flavor.
O: very good beer, with chocolate flavors, some bourbon notes, and roasted malt goodness. Might lack a little in creaminess, but that's maybe to be expected in a higher ABV beer
Release #28, on tap: "This batch is huge!! With a velvety mouthfeel that rolls from the front of the mouth to the back and side to side. Bold, classic, Columbian-like coffee flavor, vanilla and roast dominate with a bittersweet chocolate finish. Smooth and delicious."
A up a tick
A: better sustaining head; S: almost fully coffee; T: less bourbon - more smooth, coffee w/cream taste; O: less "imperial" in taste, focusing more on the coffee, it seems. Still very tasty.

Sampled from a 22oz bottle in a DFH snifter thanks to a trade with nollie77. Release #17. Started around 55 degrees.
A - Deep black with a small tan head.
S - Very interesting and unlike any other BA IS I've tried. Lots of cocoa and vanilla with a sweet, almost dessert like scent. Coffee and whisky too but in a more supporting role.
T - Good depth and complexity with cocoa, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and brown sugar. But the whisky plays the biggest role. It's a little too much at first but I adjusted along the way. The alcohol is strong but again I adjusted. It gets better as it warms.
M - Creamy with a nice low carbonation.
O - A very good beer but it took some time for me to adjust.
