A pitch black body with a long lasting sticky brown head. It’s got the look down of a big ol’ Imperial Stout.
The nose is met with a rich roasty aroma. Big coffee and roasted malt comes through. Deep dark chocolate follows. Some whiskey vapors provide some warmth in the nostrils and vanilla from the barrel flesh it out.
The taste does not disappoint. It follows nicely along with the nose. Big roasted coffee character. I feel I get more dark chocolate and cocoa nib on the taste. It is almost desserty, but does not come across with much sweetness. The booze and roast keep it in check. Whiskey comes forth in the finish and lingers with the dry oak tannins. Big heavy body that goes down smooth with mild carbonation.
This is incredibly drinkable for being 12%. It isn’t hot and the flavors are balanced well.
I got sent this from Colorado and have never heard of it. Blew me away for sure.
