A: Pours a rich black color with a dense looking one finger mocha colored head. Looks amazing. Exactly what I look for in a stout.
S: Crazy dark coffee. Someone else noted black iced coffee and I get that. You can tell that the coffee is really high quality. Espresso, dark chocolate covered coffee beans, some faint vanilla and some char. The smell is a little faint, but what I can pick out is really good.
T: The coffee absolutely dominates this beer, but that's a very good thing because this is some bomb coffee. Opens with a touch of dark chocolate and roasted malt. Then comes a huge wave of dark roasted coffee. The finish brings just a hint of whiskey, some anise, charred wood and burnt coffee grounds. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy and rich without being too thick and syrupy. Really nicely done.

Appearance: Pours a pitch black color capped by an inch of tan foam; a smattering of lace is left behind
Smell: Ashy oak and burnt coffee beans with bittersweet chocolate undertones
Taste: Scorched black bread and "Charbucks" coffee, up front, with bittersweet chocolate building, in the middle; after the swallow, the Whiskey barrel treatment adds weight and a hint of vanilla; somewhat boozy in the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: Normally, my reviews mark down beers for having to much sweetness but, in this case, I think the beer would have benefited from some sweetness in the malt to balance out all of the char and burnt flavors; not a bad beer but just my two cents
