22oz bottle poured into a pair of large snifters. Label says Release #19, 10.4% ABV, SLC #1261. Poured at fridge temperature, maybe 40ish.
Pours black, small, fast-fading light brown head. Too dark to tell whether it’s seriously carbonated or not. Smell is coffee, overwhelmingly coffee, super coffee, more so than this morning’s coffee. How do you make a beverage that smells more like coffee than coffee? I don’t understand. There’s also plenty of chocolate in the aroma. There might be a hint of smoke, which probably means a boatload that just happens to be completed covered up by the coffee.
Taste has lots of coffee, but is much more well rounded. The chocolate comes out more, the smoke balances it a little bit. Some mysterious sweetness, a little bit of black licorice. Very nice. Very interesting.
Mouthfeel is thick, slightly dry/gritty, nice. Overall, excellent beer.
If anything else pops up as it warms, I'll try to remember to update this review.

Served on tap at the brewery in Denver. Pours a pitch black with viscous apperance and dark brown head. The nose is amazing, freshly brewed bold coffee is oozing with light notes of whiskey and roasted malts in the background. Vanilla and chocolate are also present. Taste matches the nose. Coffee up front, smooth notes of vanilla and chocolate with mild whiskey at the end. The barrel aged character is well integrated with the base beer. Mouthfeel is silky smooth with mild carbonation. Overall, this is an under the radar beer for sure. It can be found on shelves pretty easily, but the taste is right up there with many of the beers that never see the light of a shelf.

On tap at Mason Lounge. This is a humongous beer. The aroma is all coffee. As is the flavor in the mouth. A booziness combines with the roasted malt to create a delicious coffee cocktail. Coffee and sugar sweetness, shading into unsweetened cocoa territory on the finish. Full body.
I should revisit this another time when I'm less drunk. But tonight there's something not quite great about this, though. Should compare this to Lagunitas Capuccino Stout...
