Poured from bomber into snifter.

A- Thick and dark black with a small off white half finger head. Little to no carbonation present. Ample amount of lacing.

S- Bourbon and coffee presence is bold and strong, just how I like this style. After the initial nose, mocha and dark chocolate are apparent. Other notes include deep roasted malts, tobacco, hints of leather, and some wood.

T- The bourbon and coffee do not disappear here, as they are the driving force if this stout. Chocolates and mocha also add a nice sweetness, as do the vanilla and wood from the bourbon barrel. Very balanced and smooth.

M- Full bodied stout. Not much carbonation. Goes down smoothly with a nice sweet aftertaste with a little heat.

O- I loved this offering, probably one if my top 5 coffee stouts. It's hard to imagine getting much better than this, but there are just a couple I can think if that rival this. Outstanding job by Epic and I look forward to this again.

Deep black body, creamy chestnut head. Nose is spectacularly rich, a candy store of molasses, caramel, toasted marshmallow, and dark chocolate. Give it a sip, though, and you've got a lot more than that...especially first off, as warm, woody bourbon flavors comes rippling over the front end. Keep sipping and you see that the palate stays in that mode, condensed, powerful, but adding layer upon layer as the drink goes on: first chewy, chocolate-covered fruit, then crisp, smoky, and toasty (think chocolate-covered pretzel), and finally finishing with the spice of clove and fresh ginger. In all, this is a gorgeous beer. The only problem I have is that, like I said before, it really doesn't expand. It's a concentrated experience, never quite as full-bodied and lingering as other top contenders in its class. But still, just because it isn't the best, that doesn't mean that what's contained in this bottle isn't pure magic. Overall, this stout is nothing less than extraordinary. Cheers!

Procured from Corks & Kegs in Rich, VA

A: Jet black in color. Poured into an Alewerks snifter. Dark tan head.
S: Strong aroma of coffee and some chocolate.
T: Taste of coffee, chocolate, vanilla up front and ends a bit bitter for me (roasted coffee).
M: Medium-bodied with a small amount of carbonation.
O: Excellent BA stout; I like that the beer does not try to hide its booziness. My only complaint is that it left a slight bitter taste in my mouth; flavors up front were awesome.
