Lucky batch #13 for me...

A - Pitch black thick oily dark tan head, disappears fast, but lacing remains. Exactly what an imperial stout should look like

S - Not bad, but was expecting more. Coffee and alcohol

T - Bam. Deep coffee / espresso. Slight chocolate, then whiskey a go go. . Great! This is where this stout is at. Complex, yet layered to be savored.

M - Thick, oily and complex. Boozy as hell, yet all three characteristics stand alone. Bravo

O - This is the bomb. great sipping stout, the warmer it gets the better it gets. Not for faint of heart, not for the beginner. If you like a good barrel aged stout, and a nip of whiskey floats your boat, come along for the ride. Highly recommended.

Pours like motor oil and looks like it to. Inky black colored beer with a tiny brown colored head.

Smells strongly of coffee. Strong scent of fresh ground coffee bean. Bitter cocoa powder and mild whiskey. Still this is a monolithic coffee beer.

Starts out mildly sweet with a strong coffee flavor and a lesser whiskey flavor. Medium level of bitterness, this is certainly mild mannered. Good alcohol warmth in the chest and a slight sensation of alcohol in the mouth. Strong espresso taste. If you don't like coffee you would be nuts to buy this because it is all about the coffee. Vanilla and bitter chocolate but in the end it is a coffee beer and a quite strong one.

Mouthfeel is THICK.

Overall a good stout and an outstanding coffee beer.;
but if you don't like coffee you will hate this one.

Holy smokes, I had this on tap for $2.50! Bought one for my brother too.

This pours insanely black with a cocoa-colored foam.

The aroma has a full bodied coffee-and-roast intensity. Heavy coffee aromas and flavors dominate the beer, with a drying roasty character underneath. There’s a touch of vanilla bean under this, along with some bitter chocolate notes.

It’s a sipper but that didn’t stop my brother from downing it like a light beer.

Release #22. Pitch black, small khaki head, some splotchy lacing. Coffee bomb on the nose. Tons of freshly brewed dark roast. Dark semi-sweet chocolate. A bit sweet and smoky, with very little alcohol presence.

Flavor profile is also decidedly coffee-forward. Bittersweet upfront then dry on the finish. Residual sugars are pretty well attenuated. American hops lend bitterness but not much flavor, letting the dark malts, cocoa, and especially coffee shine. Not sure if this release was barrel-aged as I don't really get any whiskey barrel character. Mouthfeel is very smooth and silky, but it could be more viscous and chewy.

This came out as a total coffee bomb, and an exceptional one at that. Must-have for any coffee beer fans.
