Bought from Colorado Liquor Mart in Denver, CO. This one was recommended to me, hope it lives up to the hype.

#18

Poured into a snifter.

A&S: Smells like straight up black coffee. No real sweetness or chocolate... just coffee at least it does initially. Jet black beer, with a dark tan that resides quickly.

T&M: AMAZING! Huge burst of chocolate upfront. Massive whiskey tones especially in the finish. Other tones include a bitter coffee finish and some subdued vanilla upfront. Very silky smooth texture, pretty much as good as it gets, with a sprinkling of carbonation.

Overall: It runs for around 12 bucks a bomber and well worth it. I would recommend splitting it with a friend. One of the better beers I have had in recent history. The only reason I didn't write more is because I was rating with skyping with a friend and I'm sick of writing things after spending so much extra time writing science grants.

A- Thick motor oil viscous RIS. Pretty typical of the style.

S- Very coffee forward. Some fig/prune/dark fruit background along with faint dark chocolate.

T- Again, coffee forward with alcohol following. The RIS is unfortunately next. Hidden by the forwardness of the coffee and booze.

M- Moderately thin here; with a good amount of carbonation for this style.

O- This is a great fall/winter BA stout beer to buy during the holidays. Denver does not get as many as the Midwest does; so I need to stock up on these brews.

22 oz bottle, release #13, poured into a Half Acre snifter.

Pours a dark brown/black body with a mocha head of 1 finger thickness, dissipates to rimming which persists throughout the drink.

Smell is insane, strong strong coffe and cacaao, a litte vanilla, some borubon, toffee, overall quite aromatic.

Taste is fantastic. Immediate roasty flavor with coffee flavor and bitterness, some chocolate and vanilla sweetness, bourbon is additional and not dominating but a little subdued, very nice and balanced.

Mouthfeel is full bodied and chewy with medium carbonation and and sticky but dry finish.

Overall, I am loving this beer. I am loving it even more knowing that I bought it off the shelf and that it tastes better than most beers I've ever had. Win-win, Epic. Wonderful job.
