Yet another very good beer by epic. Great thick foamy head. Tight bubles that last, not the quarter inch type that fade away in 30 seconds. Held to the light, its not haxy, just dark gold in appearance. Aroma is good,, if a little mild. Mouthfeel is outstanding.. carbonation has good balance. The hop selection is interesting. Some pine finishing with a hint of citrus. Not overly bitter, a tad more than i would normally like but no complaints here. I think the slight aftertaste may be from the yeast. Not bad at all just different. The belgian characteristics are mild and most evident in the yeast flavors. Very good and will buy again. This is a beer to savor and enjoy, not one for nonchalant drinking nights. Would make an interesting pairing with a sharp cheese and possibly italian pasta - i can really see this complimenting the flavors of garlic and oregano. Not as good as their spiral jetty (imho) but a fine beer that deserves a good try.

22 oz bottle from the Utah system poured into my beer goblet.

Appearance: Slightly hazy medium golden. Very solid three finger thick head with loads of tiny bubbles. Very appealing.

Smell: Hops! I get green pine and "herby" along with a general hops spiciness. I might be imagining it, but I think I can also pick up a bit of Belgian yeast phenolics.

Taste: The taste follows the nose strongly. A very yummy IPA with strong hops flavors. The hops are not overly bitter, a lot of late and secondary. The website says Chinook, Centennial, and Citra and I can definitely pick out the Citra. I only knock this one down because I cannot pick out the Belgian yeast. If it does not have Belgian yeast, then why is it a Belgian IPA?

Mouthfeel: Solid feeling beer with lots of flavor that easily coat all over the mouth. Medium body with soft carbonation.

Overall: I would not have known this was a BIPA had the label not said so. This has been in the bottle for 100 days or so but it actually has held up quite well. I would have preferred a bit stronger in the Belgian department.

Really enjoyed this IPA. It wasn't super hoppy like alot of other IPAS with a smooth after taste. The perfect hot day IPA.
Would highly recommend this. If I remember correctly, Total Wine had plenty left of the shelves.
Excited to try some other styles from Epic.

Hazy, golden yellow body topped off with a sticky, finely foamed, white head. Spiky web of lacing down the glass. Very fragrant pine and citrus hop aromas infused with a bit of bready malts; lemony. Excellent combination of flavors; smooth, mellow grains, gentle yet slightly bold hop bitterness, and a twinge of alcohol heat in the background. Smooth, clean mouthfeel; dry finish.

A very tasty, very easy drinking Belgian IPA. Lots of flavor complexities all wrapped up in a nicely balanced body. Everything melds together just right.

Poured into pint glass.

A Hazy orange. Half inch of foam. Thick lacing. Looks like an IPA should.

S Topical fruit. Orange and lemon peel. Pine resin. Hint of malt.

T Big blast of citrus upfront. Peppery piney zest. Hoppy bitterness follows (nothing huge but it's there). A little malty sweetness in there as well.

M Light. A little runny. Fizzy carbonation. Clean finish.

O Good. I liked this quite a bit. Theres definitely better tropical/citrusy IPAs, but there's, also, many that are not as good. I'd have it again.
