Poured into a snifter. Release #4, 9.8% ABV.

3.5 A: Clear orange amber color. One finger of frothy pink-tinted white head falls quickly, but does leave some lacing behind.

4.25 S: I really like how the raspberries have asserted themselves here. Instead of just a tart raspberry fruitiness, it comes off more like a funky lambic type of raspberry. The potent pepper and clove combine with the raspberry to really tickle the senses. These big three are the focus of the brew. Underneath you will find a light grassiness and a sugary maltiness. Quite nice this one is.

3.75 T: Tastes like it smells, but it just doesn't match how well it worked in the nose. Fruity, funky raspberry. Lots of pepper and clove. Grassy, sugary maltiness.

3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Just a light spritziness from the carbonation.

3.75 D: I like the Brainless series. The base beer is always good and the fruity spins seem to work quite well. (952 characters)

Thanks to jtd1969 for sharing this bottle with me

A - pinkish amber with a thin, white head that has good retention

S - faint malt and tart raspberries

T - same as the nose; the raspberries are well balanced

M - medium bodied, well carbonated

I would have liked this one to be a bit more full-flavored. It was a nice touch with the raspberries but it was a bit light. Overall, a nice fruit beer. (400 characters)

Enjoyed from the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. This unique Belgian style ale pours a cloudy brownish red with a fizzy quickly dissipating pink head of foam that leaves a thin pool and decent lacing. Nose of light raspberries, light caramel malts, strong booze, and a hint of clove and perhaps mace. Flavors are tart sweet raspberries and sweet malts colliding in a symposium of a lightly tart ale with a dash of clove on the background. Alcohol warmth comes through on the back with gusto, while the smooth highly carbonated mouth feel makes this a lively and easy sipper. Very interesting., not sure it would be a go to brew, but it is still decent for what it is. (667 characters)
