look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: Light amber in color with tinges of pink, the body is moderately hazy, the head is small, off-white, and fairly dense, with good retention. Thin, fine lacing in a Belgian pattern adorns the glass walls. The carbonation is slight and slow-rising.

Aroma: Fermented raspberries are very prominent in the aroma, nothing at all like the artificial raspberry flavoring often found in "raspberry-flavored" beers. Dark malt and alcohol offer quite substantial contributions to the aroma, but the raspberries utterly dominate.

Taste: Opens with a strong burst of raspberries, like unsweetened jam. Soon after sweet, spicy alcohol and dark malt surge into the taste. The 9.9% ABV presents very gracefully without being hot or solvent-like . A fairly substantial, earthy yeast presence is also notable, as well as a moderate herbal hop presence. All of these other flavors serve as accompaniments to the raspberries, ever complimenting but never dominating. As the taste progresses, there are brief flourishes of other flavors: pepper, vanilla, and caramel. The taste ends as it began, with raspberries, counterbalanced with a pronounced but graceful woodiness.

.Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, very pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: A very well-made example of the style, which bespeakes the skill of the brewer. Brainless Raspberries would serve as an elegant alternative to champagne, or as a compliment to dessert.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twenty-two ounce brown glass bomber, served in a Samuel Adams Boston Lager sensory glass.

A decent sour from Epic. Prominent raspberry aroma with a hint of grain. Big fruit middle and finish with low hopping. Medium carbonation and body. Decent look and feel, OK head and lace. Worth a try.

A: Creamy red and brown. Not a big head.

S: Raspberries are there. Some esters and yeast as well.

T: Very unique. It's like a farmhouse or some other kind of wheat beer with tart raspberry notes in the background. Subtle fruit tartness (expected a lot more of this up front), wheat, some funk, and cream. Weird, but not bad.

M: Fairly full. Wheaty and creamy at the same time. I like the touch of crisp carbonation that balances it out a bit.

O: Not a bad beer, but wouldn't have it again. The flavors are a little unbalanced and the heaviness is kinda weird for the style. This is a good one time only beer though.
