Very good beer and tasty soup and sandwiches made on grill as you watch. Bombers to go.

Don't go here thinking you'll get a drink here. With only 6 seats (and they can't serve you if you're not in a seat) it could be a very long wait til someone goes. Ok but not worth wait & folks weren't that helpful.

This is the SLC place. Very bad service, had a talk with either the owner or manager, the dude was a DICK. Got my money back and never been back. I believe this was back in the winter of 2010. Their beers are/were overpriced and not that much to talk about.

Tiny little taproom with about 6 seats. Must order food if you plan to taste or order some beers. Service was great, the caprese sandwich even better. Would definitely suggest hitting up Epic on a rainy day. If you are coming from Denver, don't expect this Epic to be the slightest bit familiar in terms of atmosphere. The Denver Epic is completely different.

This is sort of a strange place to try and quantify. it is right in the heart of salt lake city, but until recently, was just a place to buy beer, not consume it on site, due to the odd Utah laws. to combat this, they put a panini press in the back room, and required you to get a sandwich if you wanted to have a beer. a clever subversion of the law, but an annoyance really. the front is glass cooler full of bottles, and I have to say ive never had an epic brew that didn't wow me in some way. they do a lot of interesting fruited beers, and are artists with yeast, so I really admire their craft, but this probably isn't the best place to introduce yourself to their stuff. it was crowded and sort of lacking feel, a place much more about making and selling beer out the door than serving it there, which is okay, especially given the context of Utah law. I always try and stop in for a few bottles when I am in town though, they always have something interesting bottled up. epic is pushing the envelope, and until their beers get wider distribution, you almost have to go to the source for them. the big bad Baptist alone is worth the trip and a subpar grilled sandwich!
