A: Walking in and it is much like a 7-11. Sordove odd and unexpected.
Q: The quality of beer here is good. I boght a 202 Old Guardian and 2x 2009 Scuttlebutt Old No 1 bwines plus a 2011 Stone IRS. All good.
S: It was average. I shopped myself and had no help. There was the cashier who was female and really knew nothing about beer other than what they had on draft. Not bad, not great either.
S: Selection was good: Older Vis, FW14, Old Guardian, Old Ruffian, Old Stock, plenty of locals and RR stuff. The place was sordove odd in the way it was displayed and laid out. Up near the register is some RR stuff and FW14 and the draft handles. Then random beer is sordve scattered out throughout the floor space and coolers.
F: No food unless you want a bag o chip and Snickers bar.

Minimum of 5 beers on tap and always rotating (never have seen the same beer twice), cheap growler fills, great sandwiches that are quite affordable and filling...much more to say but others chimed in similar sentiments to my own. The owner Minh (sp.) is super knowledgeable concerning beer, especially the rarities and oddballs. I brought him a few beers from out-of-state and he almost gave me the title to his home, point being, he will not forget what I did and I will not forget how happy he was, good for both of us. Friendly customers, no doubt, especially considering that IT IS A CORNER GROCERY STORE .
I purchased a beer that poured totally flat (and it was not supposed to), it must have been mishandled during transport, I called Minh 3 days after purchase and he assured me that he would let me pick out another beer for the same price or another of the same kind. Even though he was not there when I stopped by, the staff called him to confirm what I was telling them, which I not only understand but respect. The boss assured the chap who was calling him that my words were true and the rest is history, no questions. Honest folks who love beer, what else can you ask for? Other things but all answers are positive in regards to SDM.
Also, great beer selection, rare and odd, ciders, barleywine, etc...all at a reasonable price and turnover is big so pick up what you want when you see it or it might be gone. I do not Tweet or FB so I wish they had a email list like Beer Junction but I am still happy to be a customer of this joint. Cheers!
UPDATE 2.13.13...after visiting multiple times before and after this review, I had to lower my ratings after the last visit. I witnessed the owner completely berate an employee while talking about what was important for the business. His attitude will keep me from going back unless something super rare is there...I understand that things get hairy sometimes but Minh's behavior was simply unacceptable.

Gas station convenience store without the gas. Only six taps, but every growler they fill is $10, every pint they serve is $3. Very good bottle selection, keep your eye out because they stock some shelves with rare/vintage items. Pretty impressive place.

This place is quite odd. On the outside it looks like a standard mini mart in a seedy area. Pretty much the kind of place you go into and hope that no one robs you while you are there.
However inside they have a selection that rivals some bottle shops and incredibly cheap growler fills.
The selection includes stuff like the Boulevard Smokestack series stuff, pretty much all the Russian River sours, stuff like Kentucky Dark Star by local breweries, reserve series stuff by Deschutes ect.
Overall while its not as good as places like Bottleworks and 99 bottles it is a close second, and well worth seeking out.

I visited this place while attending a conference in April 2011. As others have noted, this is a converted 7-11 (or similar) that now includes delicious deli sandwiches and a fine array of choice beers.
I spoke with the store owner and told him my budget, what I liked, and what I didn't have access to back in Indiana. He enthusiastically walked me through the better part of their selection with comments on availability, quality of particular vintages, and cellarability. This type of customer service is what gets folks to come back time after time.
The selection included some fun limited releases from Full Sail, Big Sky, Lost Abbey, RR, and many other quality "standards." After a half an hour of looking, I was hungry, and they fixed me a delicious veggie sandwich from the deli. After I ate, I continued putting together my purchase with constant input from the incredibly knowledgeable owner.
The service and selection makes this store a must visit.

I have a friend who lives close to Super Deli Mart, so in the last six years I'm sure I've driven by it 20 to 30 times without giving it a thought. Finally went in there earlier this year and found out what I've been missing.
What appears to be an unassuming corner stop and rob quickie mart, Super Deli specializes in craft beer. Sure, you'll see an old guy picking up a case of High Life while some kids get a bag of chips, but you'll also see beer nerds fawning over the cheap growler fills and pints from one of their four taps. Did I say cheap pints and growler fills? Yes, I mean cheap pints and growler fills. Pliny the Elder for $10. Maharaja for $10. Everything is $10 a growler and $3 for a pint. Check their Twitter feed to see what they've got and what's on the way.
In addition to that, Super Deli carries a great selection of bottled beer. They've got all the PNW staples along with a nice selection of Russian River, Dogfish Head and other Beer Nerd icons. Nice selection of stuff from British Columbia as well, along with some Belgians.
Along with the beer, Super Deli makes great sandwiches that you can enjoy while sitting at one of their indoor picnic tables while drinking a pint.
People joke about this being "Seattle's best kept secret that everyone knows about." I'd say they're spot on.
