It requires a slightly aggressive pour. I got half a finger of rich brown head over a dark brown body. Retains a good ring, lace falls into beer quickly.
Smells nice and roasty! Deep malt aromas with brown sugar, caramel and roasted nuts. A little hint of dark fruit and chocolate.
Brown sugar and caramel up front start it off. This adds in a richly roasted nuttiness that follows on into the taste of slightly burnt pie crust, pie spices, cinnamon and a little more brown sugar.
The mouthfeel is medium-heavy bodied. It leaves a little trail of residue down the tongue. The carbonation almost seems nil but it doesn't bog down at all, keeps flowing.
