A - For an American stout (non RIS), it's impressive. Black body and espresso brown head. Great lacing and retention.

S - Light roasted malts, milk chocolate notes and faint licorice.

T - A little smokey, roasted malts, char and earthy.

M - Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Easily drinkable and a bit of heat.

O - Not bad, not bad at all.

Pours very nearly jet black except for just a faint deep ruby tinge when held to the light,a deep mocha colored half finger head atop.Dark fruits, char, bitter chocolate, and sweet alcohol in the nose, not much smoke but a big brash aroma.Quite dry and charred up front than an onslaught of dark fruit and alcohol sweetness with a hint of vanilla, again not much smoke, but then some earthiness brings back some dryness.Well the label says it's smoked I don't get that element but this is a great stout, with all the flavor components from char to sweet.

In a tulip glass this beer was black in color with a tiny, almost nonexistant tan head.

Nice aroma of chocolate and coffee.

Even better taste. Mostly dark chocolate, but also plenty of sweet chocolate, making it kind of bittersweet. Some espresso coffee.

This was a rich and flavorful stout. One to savor.

Definitely will buy this again.

Dark abyss of a beer I love the pitch black body with a big mocha tan head, this is imperial stout at it's best!!! Aromas have dark chocolate, creamy marshmallow, smoked hickory from the burning stakes of fury used to formerly kill vampires, a hint of angelic holy water softness...okay I can't tell from smelling that there's holy water but the smoked hickory edge gives away the burning stake presence. Beautiful smoked imperial stout should be rated off the charts regardless of what they are sued over it's a great beer, Vampire Slayer or Undead Party Crasher I've had bottles from each batch. However this new batch hits me and I'm in love at hello! Big imperial stout soaked in wood aging effects I'm induced by the love of the intense qualities this beer has to offer. Mouthfeel is thick chewy rounded out by hickory smoke that is so thick you can chew on it. Overall I'm thoroughly impressed I'm in love once again, great beer from the first to last drop.

Thick and oily, pouring a very dark brown while ending up near-black in the glass, this beer produces a dark brown head, one of the darkest I've seen, one finger tall. It shows good retention and the lacing coats the glass's walls well.
The aroma showcases, foremost, sweet and creamy milk chocolate. There's a hint of coffee grounds, light wafts of smokiness, vanilla, and a meaty nuttiness, but this big stout seems to show off the sweetness as its primary aspect, with less focus on the roast than many.
The roast is certainly there, though for the most part the flavor meets the aroma's expectations very closely. There's lots of cocoa before the roastiness, which remains for the duration, with a light accompanying nutty flavor that's meatier than almond but drier than walnut. Also pulling through is a vaguely detectable note of dark fruits, not prominent and not as strong as many in the style, which suits this beer just fine. It's more like overripe very dark red cherry, maybe, than anything. It ends with barley notes leading and following into the finish.
The body is thick, full and very smooth. This beer is a treat all around.
