bottled 8/11 is printed on the label
Pours mostly black with a big thick mocha head that deposits a ring of cliff clumps of thick lace along with sporadic clumps up and down the bottle.
Nose: Strong citrus hops dominate, piney with a bit of cocoa
Slightly thin oily mouthfeel. Roasted malts add thickness with rich textured flavors of smoke, caramel and chocolate. Hops rely heavy on a full bitter blast that mostly hides the citrus piney flavors that try and poke their way out. The chalky bitterness hangs around for a while.
My only complaint is the nose does not translate to the flavor from an abundance of bitterness.
