look: 3.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 5

Appearance- Poured into an imperial pint, clear golden color with tons of active carbonation, with an insanely large head foaming up and not moving, more than half the glass. What the deuce!? When it finally settles it is a nice looking beer. (The 2nd pour clouded things up with the yeast in there)

Smell- Lots of lemon and orange notes, with definite coriander. Solid, inviting aroma. Maybe a bit more orange, or “clementine” than found in your average wit.

Taste- Lemon up front, turning into sweet juicy orange throughout. Ever so slightly bitter. Some light coriander spice and subtle clove as well. The label does not lie! A subtle Belgian yeastiness noticed on the linger, but it is very light.

Mouthfeel- Light body and high carbonation. Could use a bit more heft, even for the style, but it is infinitely drinkable, and incredibly refreshing.

Overall- The sum is greater than the parts on this one, and factoring in the drinkability it gets a 5. A great summertime thirst quencher and a very fairly priced bomber. Also can we talk about this brewers name… Clown Shoes!? Probably the greatest thing since sliced bread! Looking forward to checking out the rest of their lineup.

330ml bottle with best before date of march 2014.

A- pours a yellowish brown hazy, with a thick soapy white head about 2cm thick. The head keeps on and on.

S- sweet candi sugar, strong herbal whiff with some wheat in there. Faint mango aroma too.

T- yeasty, earthy taste with nice orange and lemon zest which isn't too strong. Wheat backdrop typical of a wit beer, but I can't really pick up the advertised coriander. Nice hoppy bitterness is noticeable throughout.

M- light to medium body, soapy texture, sharp finish and high carbonation.

O- good solid representation of the style. More bitter and less watery than a hoegaarden, this is worth a go. But drink it in summer, not in winter like me.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a glass tumbler. Moderately aggressive hand. Bottled on 02/21/2014.

A: Hazy, yellow-orange hued body with 3+ fingers of sudsy, slightly rocky white head. Good retention. Moderate lacing.

S: Faintly musty yeast with notes of citrus zest, orange, lemon. Coriander. Lighter honey, floral hops.

T: Fruit and spice up front via the yeast. A hop bitterness mounts quickly and yields a fairly dry, pretty clean finish. Citrus zest bitterness lingers on the palate. Minimal alcohol.

M: Moderate carbonation with a moderate body. There is a mild effervescent kick with a slight prickliness.

O: Not a bad wit. A good amount of citrus is dialed in without excessive sweetness. Perhaps a bit over-hopped and somewhat lacking in depth, but certainly a refreshing, warm weather quaff.

Prost!
