Slightly older bottle dated bottled Dec. 2010 poured into a Brooklyn Tulip.
Appealing slightly orangish color with a dense soapy bubble looking white to slightly beige head. Fairly effervescent.
Nose was light peppery spice, nice orange, clementine and tangerine tones. No hops and spicing was very moderate to low in the mix. Clean.
The flavor profile was very Saison like, a bit bigger than a traditional wit, with a touch of alcohol bite on the tongue, nice bit of oat/oily character. A flavorful touch of tropical citrus from orange to clementine to tangerine sits on the mid palate through the finish.
Medium carbonation with a good clean semi dry finish and a touch of lingering fruitiness.
Very good drinker, would seek out again. See it as an excellent fit to warmer weather with grilled fish and vegetables.

From the can in the 2021 Clown Shoes Christmas pack, it pours a hazy amber color with a nice head that slowly reduces. The nose gets spices and light malt. The mouth gets a light malt flavor with spice. Smooth feeling and easy drinking.

12oz can, tulip, best by 1/31/22.
Hazy gold with a medium head that’s faded quickly.
I’m immediately reminded of Shock Top. It’s got bitter orange peel and coriander, the usual stuff, and soft wheat.
Very similar in the mouth. Spiced orange peel and wheat. It finishes with a lingering bitterness.
It’s light, pretty spritzy, and finishes matte.
Good flavor, definitely reminds me of Shock Top as I think I mentioned.

I didn’t think I would like this as much as I did. The clementine part is sublime. It is mostly a garden variety white ale, I’d say, but finishes nicely.
