Bottled March 2011 in the 22 oz. bottle.

Beautiful deep golden-orange and rapidly bubbling carbonation, adding to a fluffy white head.

Fruity, with the clementines providing a huge kick of citrus right up front, hiding behind it the yeastiness and hoppiness. It's there but reserved on the nose.

General characteristics of a white with bits of hops and yeast, while the title ingredient remains dominant. Bitter and drying but still sweet citrus, almost like it's the rind that is incorporated, rather than anything having to do with the juice. the hoppiness then is far removed, sitting way back on the palette. It does though carry the citrus through here, playing more of a supporting role.

Unique in that not many breweries can pull off incorporating big citrus into a beer that traditionally only features moderate citrus. But I think this would be a good white ale without the citrus - just add some lemongrass and it might be more enjoyable. It adds something - I'm just not sure it lives up to the hype.

Poured into a chalice a hazed tangerine color with a nicely formed 1/2 finger white head atop.Alot of yeasty phenols in the nose mixed coriander spiceed notes,Iam not sure if I have come across a wit with that much of a yeasty phenolic presence.flavors have a nice clementine orange presence upfront then the yeasty phenolic spiced flavors really pretty much take over,a light smattering of coriander in the finish. It's not bad but it;s a little yeast heavy handed in my opinion.

12oz bottle poured into Mr. Pint Glass. I really should consider buying some better drinkware.

Appearance: Pours a hazy orange color with a LOT of bubbles. This beer just churns and churns and churns! Helps keep a small head to it that stays around a little bit.

Smell: Citrusy, but good gobs of bread and coriander to boot.

Taste: Yeasty with hits of orange and coriander. Not an overpowering taste, but not one that lurks totally in the background.

Mouthfeel: Pretty crisp. Not overly carbonated.

Overall: Refreshing; I'll probably save the other two bottles I got for the summer. Don't think I'll go buy more, though. Not bad, not stellar. Decent.

On tap at the Oak Cafe. Super-duper cloudy, pale yellow-straw throughout, topped off by a staggeringly white film that skews itself across the top of the beer. Some mild, dripping wet lace is momentarily left on the sides of the glass before it starts to crawl back down towards the beer. Pretty weak looking overall, but I guess it's acceptable for a witbier.

The aroma is very bubblegummy and certainly yeast-heavy. I get lots of grass and some kind of back-up spiced note that I can't quite put my finger on. There's clove in there, too, but I'm having trouble making out the other spice. Some sweet, estery banana aroma bring up the rear and complete the witbier bouquet. Kind of lackluster in terms of stature, but I guess I wasn't really expecting much more.

Clementine hits my palate and it's shockingly thin. I know it's only a witbier, but it's still 6% ABV and should definitely have a little more body than this. Not only is the body thin, but the flavor is pretty thin as well. Some lightly sweet, fruity esters, lemon, orange zest, light yeast, and some finishing mint leaves. Seems like a nice concoction of flavors, but something's not quite right.

Orange is present in the flavor, sure, but not in the capacity you'd expect from a beer that was simply called "Clementine". The bubblegum and clove-like yeast flavors become stronger with warmth until the eventually become the leaders of the pack. As already mentioned, the mouth feel is depressingly thin, and the high carbonation doesn't exactly bode in its favor.

A resounding "meh" could be heard each time I took a sip of this beer. It's one of those "not bad, but not exactly good" type of things. It's just... well, it's nothing special. It has all been done before, and Clementine doesn't do anything to stand out and make me want to drink it again. Huge fans of the style might enjoy it, but I won't be taking it out for a second date.

Pours a very pale yellow. Has a good foamy head, but otherwise reminds me of a mass-brew. Smells of straw and yeast and spices, WTF? Not expected.

Has a slightly sour, bubbly taste with only a hint of the clementine I was promised. It's certainly light, so it would be good on a hot day.

I was expecting much more based on their good reviews. Overall, nothing special. Ok light beer + fruit but much more to say. I'd skip it.

Hazy straw color with a thin white cap. Sweet candy roma with slight yeastiness. Sweet allover, but with a hop finish, unepected. A little yeast, lemon, grass, and banana. PRetty diverse flavor profile. Medium bodied, great carbonation. Really nice summer brew.

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #44 (Sep 2010):

Big tower of sea-foam head; cloudy yellow with a very active carbonation. Spiciness of coriander and hops with orange peel and yeast are blatantly obvious in the nose. Rolling crispness off of a fluffy medium body. All the right facets are here ... orange peel and coriander with a light bready malt flavor. Slight tartness evens the playing field, but the yeast does distract a bit more than needed with some chalkiness in the end. Coriander turns around and drops some bitterness, along with the herbal hop, for a pulling semidry finish. A good take on the style: not over spiced, and well balanced aside from the overtone of yeast.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden amber with a meringue white head that retains fairly well and laces the glass.

The aroma is citrus, coriander and some funky yeast.

The flavor is sweet bready malts with some citrus, coriander, floral spices and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth creamy carbonation.

Overall, an OK wit, a little heavy on the spice.

12 ounce bottle, with "Bottled on" dating notched onto the side of the label (Aug 2011)
Pours heavily clouded, darker tangarine, light tan head, stas for a spell then goes to a thicker film, thick collar and then leaves pretty will developed stringy bands of lacing.

Some orange, coriander and tropical spicing in the nose.

Flavor is dominated by oranges, more coriander and unknown earthy spicing. Pleasant enough wit, but nothing really special

Had on tap at Julian's Providence

Appearance: 1 inch head, bright caution light yellow in color, cloudy, moderate carbonation

Smell: wheat, strong citrus smell which I assume is the clementine

Taste: wheat and a super big citrus taste of orange, lemon, and clementine

Mouthfeel: very sweet, medium/high carbonation, light bodied, smooth

Drinkability: A great dessert beer. To me this is like a Blue Moon, if you remove the bitterness and amp up the sweet citrus. This is what I envision the style to be. I would get this again. A very good beer.
