Poured from a bomber into my tulip.
A - Pours a very dark brown, if not black. It has about an inch of medium brown head that lasts a long time. The head slowly dies with a lot of lacing.
S - Smells like toasted malts. Very similar to a stout, lots of coffee and chocolate with hints of molasses.
T - The taste is a lot like the smell. I know this is considered a double black IPA, but to me, it tastes pretty much like a stout. As it warms, there is a hint of fruitiness in it, but it's still very stouty.
M - The best way to describe the mouthfeel is thick. I think it must have to do with the amount of alcohol in the beer, but the beer is not incredibly carbonated, it's just mainly thick.
Overall, this beer may be a little bit too much black and not enough IPA. This is a good beer, but it's more stout than anything.
