Poured into a tulip glass a rich copper color with a fluffy white head that was gone pretty quickly, with a longer lasting head I would have gave it a higher score,I really like the color and clarity to the beer.Bigtime Amarillo hop aromas, sharp and citric they really burst out at ya,light phenols and even lighter bready malt round out the aroma profile. The yeast plays a bigger role on the palate, spiced and warming the phenols overshadow the citric hops a little but its still quite good.Another good offering I have tried from Clown Shoes, and the write up on the label is spot on.

On tap at the Oak Cafe. Rustic amber body with some toasty copper highlight thrown about. The whole thing is a bit muddle, though it allows quite a bit of light to shine through, albeit highly obscured. Not much of a head, surprisingly for a Belgian IPA, really, rather there's only a wispy white skin that traverses the top of the beer and bunches up a little bit at the border.

It's hard to pull much out of the aroma at first, because it's unfortunately underwhelming. I thought maybe it was a bit too cold, which I'm sure it was, but even warmth didn't hand over the amplification that I was expecting. Lightly hopped (for an IPA especially) with very timid notes of citrus and mild grass and herbs. Yeast is more prominent in the form of faintly sweet esters and a finishing waft of bubblegum.

The taste is a bit better, at least in terms of sheer force. Lightly bitter on the back and sides of the tongue with each sip, as the tide of mild pine, leaves, and grapefruit peels rolls in. The hops seem to open up a little more on the palate, as does the malt bill; some toasted and buttered bready malts counter the hops with a pinch of mid-palate sweetness.

Yeast flavors remain tame until most of the finish, where some banana esters, very, very faint spice, and a bit more bubblegum finally peek their heads above the water. Bitterness is still present on the back of the tongue by the time you've swallowed, but it's a pretty mild and low bitterness overall, more akin to regular pale ale levels of IBU. The body's a bit thicker than you'd expect, which is actually a good thing; good carbonation and a smooth, sharp mouth feel.

Nothing off-putting or offensive with this one, but it's largely forgettable. There's just not a whole lot going on, and there's nothing really new or exciting happening. It's easy enough to drink, but whenever you're in the position to purchase this, there's likely something equally or more enjoyable that will be available as well. No real redeeming qualities, but not bad by any means.

A - Amber, cloudy, tall head, hard to tell how much carbonation because of the cloudiness and the excessive darkness, but must not be that much as head subsides rather quickly.

S - Belgian yeast, bubblegum, a bit of spice, and some floral hop aroma.

T - Very much like it smells, spice and yeast up front, moving too some sweet floral hop flavors, and finishes with a crisp bitter bite.

M - Light and clean body. Could use either or both some some more alcohol and carbonation. Even though it is light in body, I'd like it to finish a bit more crisp.

O - Pretty good Belgian IPA from America, but I think there are some better out there such at Stone's Cali-Belgique.

These guys do make some good beers.
This was an amber color with a medium white head and a little bit of lace.
Mostly citrus aroma, mainly orange. Cotton candy. A little herbal.
Taste mainly sweet and yeasty. Orange rind. A little bit of sweet malt that kind of gets lost.
Some late piney hops.
Nice beer, easy to drink.

Shared with my wife served in a wine glass and my Allagash tulip.

The color is an orange color with full head. As I drink the lace holds and shades the inner glass.

The aroma is citrus hops sweet malt backs

The taste is very nice the carbonation instantly fills the mouth. Sweet malt enter and then as the carbonation subsides citrus hops and a slight yeast. At the finish is a slight bitterness very nice

22 ounce bottle, $6.50 at Spirit Haus, Amherst, Ma.. "Bottled the first week of January, 2011" on the side of the label.

Pours lightly hazed dull tangarine amber, frothy medium tan head, shows good retention, thick sheeting, and ample lacing.

Orange peel, malt and resiny hops in the nose.

Citric notes abound. Pineapple, orange, candied fruits, malt support in the midsection and more citric hop bite all over the finish.

Well done, complex and simply delicious take on an exciting and pleasing style.

Poured into a pint glass. Had at New World Tavern--Plymouth

Appearance: 1/2 inch head, moderate carbonation, dark gold in color, clear

Smell: floral hops, Belgian sugars

Taste: hay, apple, big bitter floral and earthy hops at the end—slight Belgian sugars

Mouthfeel: sweetish start with a bitter middle and really bitter end, dry aftertaste, moderate carbonation, medium bodied

Overall: A very good Belgian IPA that has some bite to it. This is a sipper. The earthiness comes out as it warms and that is my favorite part of this. Would not rush out for it, but I would get it again if I desired something hoppy.

Glad to finally have Clown Shoes distributed in Texas.

The beer pours a hazy orange-brown color with a white head. The aroma is decent. I get some floral notes from the hops, as well as some citrus notes. There is a decent amount of sugar in the aroma as well as some alcohol and yeast notes.

The flavor is similar. I get a lot of floral hops, as well as some orange citrus and grass notes. There is a Belgian yeast component in the flavor as well. As the beer warms I start to get some strong perfume-like aspects in the flavor.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
