Picked this up last week in Totowa as a single bottle, wondering if a beer of this name could be taken seriously. This leaned more toward the American side of "Belgian IPA" as the hop profile and taste of this beer seemed more at home than something that would be brewed overseas. There was enough cloudiness and funk in this to give it a Belgian profile but in the end, the hops and mouthfeel of this beer reminded me of a Pale Ale more than anything else.
This was brewed on 1/29 of this year and it showed when I poured it out, as there was a bit of sediment at the bottom of the bottle that took a while to swirl out. The hue was a cloudy apricot with a mild head that held its own before settling down and just a hint of lacing could be seen as I worked my way through this. Some sugar, yeast, and lemon in the nose as the mouthfeel was quite juicy to this. Faint hints of tangerine and tropical fruits in the taste and not a lot of carbonation to wash everything down. The yeast was the most noticeable aspect of the body but that gave way to the fruity notes and a bit of the hops in the back, which lingered for quite a while after each sip.
So did the booze, although I couldn't taste it. This felt stronger than it was in actuality, which was a testament to the "IPA" in this beer. While not the best example of a Belgian IPA, there was enough t like here and the body was more than sufficient to tie everything in together. While not memorable, this had the staying power of a tramp stamp without the accompanying tackiness. Worth a go once for anyone who likes this style or a hoppy beer that has the characteristics of a Belgian Pale Ale or IPA.

A - really nice amber color, great foamy head with pretty solid lacing around the glass
S - citrus, hops, zesty, malt, oranges, mangoes
T - taste is very similar to the smell. lots of hops, orange zest, citrus mangoes, good amount of malt
M - medium bodied, some carbonation, really nice on the palette
O - really nice beer here, you have a fantastic balance of hops and orange-citrus zest, some malt characters, but a solid offering for a Belgian IPA. Not too sweet but not too bitter either, this is a solid beer.
