Color- dark honey. Medium head.

Aroma- maple syrup, oatmeal, topaz hops.

Taste- Starts sweet and syrupy then finishes with a dank lingering hoppiness. Maybe this was not a fresh bottle? Just a disappointing brew in a very crowded market.

Poured from 650 ml bomber into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted December 2012.

Bomber served chilled into a shaped Sam Adams glass.

Supa Hero is a hazy yellow orange color with thick white head. It's tight and sticky leaving some nice lacing behind.

Aroma is super hoppy and fresh with great citrusy hops. Accurately described as dank on the label.

Flavor has lots of great hop flavor. Surprisingly not that bitter but full of fresh hops and a lemony citrus character.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Very well balanced for a double IPA.

Overall a pleasant surprise. This one tastes better than the reviews had me expecting.

not retired, I had this on tap just yesterday. it pours a really light golden color for the style, soapy white head. tropical fruit aromatics, low on bitterness high on fruit punch vibes. not even real oily, sort of a funny east coast version. taste is light and bright and really clean. again, very low bitterness but a lot of delicate hop flavor. a touch of sweetness from the malt, and a well hidden alcohol content. the hops here are the best part, as they should be in an ipa. really clean and summery. melon and pineapple come to mind, peaches maybe too. only a little bitter as it swallows. I love the lightness in feel for a big ipa, its soft and thin, which usually isn't what I look for, but this is a summertime drinker for the hophead. it really works in that context. one of the better clown shoes beers ive had so far.

Reviewing from notes. Poured this 22 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams glass. The body was bright copper/apricot with a chill haze. The eggshell white head was quick to fade to a film leaving a sticky lace in the glass.

The smell was sour hard candy. Citrus and sourdough bread?

The taste was of dank hops. Earthy and less than sharp. Intense but not brash. Lots of hops oils and grapefruit pith. One of the best Clown Shoes beers I have had.

The body was medium to full and there was modest carbonation. I would pick this one up again if it were a regular offering. Flavorful and fresh.
