Found this tasty brew on tap at 7 Monks in Traverse City.
Appearance: Very dark brown, nearly black pour. Thin amber head with minimal lacing.
Smell: Smoky woodsy charred smell.
Taste: Alcohol comes through right away but not overpowering. Followed by hops, chocolate, and coffee. Like most beers in this category, it gets tastier as it warms.
Mouhfeel: A bit thin, but not a significant amount.
Overall: I loved this beer. I would have had another but the bar had 46 different beers on tap, plus I promised my wife a color tour. I'll have to look for this baby in the bottle at the local brew store.
I just managed to pick up a 22 oz bottle from the local distributor. It's just as delicious out of the bottle. I also just heard that some Tool Bags out of California think they should litigate to to preserve the vampire name. F them...

bottle was purchased sometime last year
A: poured into a snifter to a deep black with a one finger tan head that is slow to fade and leaves good lacing
S: smells of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and a little smoke
T: taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and just a hint of smoke. swallow is roasted malt, chocolate and more smoke with a little coffee
M: this beer is on the heavy side with a smooth and silky mouthfeel. carbonation is there but is very subdued while the finish is just slightly on the drying side
O: This is a fantastic beer with great flavors and a killer mouthfeel. This one nails it in the American Imperial Stout category.

S- Roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate
T - rich, roasted malt start...sweet coco finish
M - medium... Could be a bit thicker, but i like me thick
O- Nice stout for the price. Rich and malty... I could swear coco nibs were involved
