A - Treacle-black, carrying a (too) thin but resilient head with a mound-covered and pockmarked surface.
S - Classic stout scents billow into the nostrils. Smiling with anticipation.
T - Not as much flavour a I'd hoped for. Generally expecting a 'bigger' beer; whether that be chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, hoppy finish, charcoal, whatever. Also had a pronounced vinous (red wine) finish. Weird. Despite this it's still highly drinkable at 10% (+.25) which I always appreciate.
M - A bit fluffy, by which I mean that as it first rolls into your mouth you expect a wholesome and filling experience but when you get your mouth around it just sort of disappears, a bit like candy floss.
O - Slightly disappointing and definitely not worth $10 (this is Maui though, so everything's pretty pricey). Maybe it wasn't stored appropriately for the 6 months before it met me. Who knows. Good not great, but I'd still be interested to try it fresh, if only for comparisons sake.
