Chocolate Sombrero (thanks to my trading partners!) split with my brother and poured into tulips.
A: Dark opaque brown pour, with a tan head that doesn't retain very well (likely because of the adjuncts used).
S: Big chocolate and milk chocolate-like sweetness bordering on caramel, hefty spice note that is recognizable as primarily cinnamon. There is a hint of peppery heat, as well as the slightest hint of vanilla. Roasty, sweet, and spicy, but well-integrated and inviting.
T: Follows the nose, moderate chocolate without being overly sweet; caramel and faint vanilla sweetness again, plenty of cinnamon start-to-finish, and a faint peppery sensation, especially on my lips as I drink. Its not distracting, its actually barely noticeable, but it brings out the 'Mexican' side of this chocolate stout.
MF: Pretty creamy, medium-to-full bodied, and with everything going on in this beer I can't detect any alcohol presence.
O: A good beer, well executed. Peppers are NOT overwhelming, neither is the cinnamon though it is definitely prominent.
