Pours a fairly cloudy golden orange. I could see through it, but just barely. 3 finger off white head that rises above the glass, becoming thick and chunky as it recedes, leaving thick, sticky lacing.
The aroma is impressive. Very hop forward, not surprisingly. Fruity and piney with ripe citrus and light spice and honey. The malt lends a light sweet aroma that contributes to the fruitiness.
The carbonation seems to inhibit the taste for a second, before the sweet citrus blows through it. This is followed by a rising bitterness, like grapefruit rind, that finally outlasts the sweetness in the end. Spicy pine in the middle.
Medium in body with a good bite of carbonation, especially early. Light oily burn in the throat. Somewhat drying.
Tasty and sessionable. Fairly light, but not a light weight. A good followup for a turkey dinner.
