22 ounce bottle - $4.99 at Bullock's Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours an opaque, rust-toned body with a ill-formed, short-lived, just off-white head. No real lace accumulation.

Smell: Sweet-scented, well-toasted, bready, and simply crackling with cooked brown sugar. Wafting, stinging alcohol all the while. Hoppy, poppy notes of pine, pithy citrus peels, and shredded mint leaf.

Taste: Toasted bread, toasted nuts, and big, sweet gulp of brown sugar linking to a seer of alcohol. Bold crystal malt quality. It's plenty sweet and sugary, but, there's alot of resiny bitterness, hot alcohol, citric orange pinches to balance it out. Even a sliver of mint. Moderate bitterness. Sugary, spicy, bitter, and a bit boozy on the bitter, heated finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: It'll do.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into becker.

A: Dark amber hue. Pours a large, cascading, frothy, brown white head. Craters very slowly leaving plenty of dry sticky residue in its wake. Something like a root beer float. Lots of spider web lacing too.

S: Roasted malt, pecan, molasses.

T: Charred grains, coffee, pecan, molasses peat, and hickory chips.

M: Hearty and robust. Peaty finish.

D: Sip and enjoy.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Dark hue, giant head, and tons o' lacing. Roasted malt, nuts, and sweet molasses. Char roasted grains, with pecan, sweet molasses, a peaty character, and some woody tones. Well-balanced. Overall, this is a really good quaff.

age may have done this blended beauty some good, almost a year old now it must have mellowed some. it pours a luxurious orange brick red, cloudy and thick, with a frothy lacey oatmeal colored head. nose of warming alcohol, both sweet and dry red malts, a splash of pink grapefruit, and rich caramel, and flaked oats. less sweetness in the taste than the nose, and the complex red malt bill dances in front of a pine tree hop palate. resinous bitterness finishes it out, with the smooth texture oats always seem to add. lots of body, soft in feel though. my main complaint here is just a little too much alcohol. it doesn't add much, it detracts from some of the more subtle flavors, and it definitely gets me too drunk for more than one of these. a uniquely crafted collaboration brew here. big thanks to my brother for hooking this up for me through his wedding. hell of a gift man.

Appearance: red and hazy. Decent size off white head. Not bad looking, nothing too delectable.
Smell: very pleasant malty with some hoppy razor. A bit of fruitiness.
Taste: hoppy edge up front. Balanced with malty offset. Still, a bit of bitter finish.
Overall: tasty enough. Not a standout but a nice amber.

Bottled on 8/12 so it has some age,Iam still dissapointed from the election I would have voted for this guy over...well nevermind.Poured into an impy nonic a deep amber color with a large light tan colored head that left one full ring of lace as it settled into a frothy mass, love the rich color.A blast of citric/resiny hops is the first thing I notice in the nose, then comes the brown sugar, caramel, and alcohol blast,it's a shock to the nose in a good way.A big mix of resiny hops and brown sugar cakey notes on the palate,I love big hopped up red and this delivers just a heavy does of alcohol and brown sugar. It's a really good beer, kinda old school left coast with big alcohol,I liked it.

22 oz bottle, served at 52 degrees, snifter.... bottled 08/2012

Nice beer, but served as last one of the evening, so unfair advantage noted...

A: Darker than expected. Brown, but not black. Nice foamy head initially, lacing throughout out, but sparse.

S: Toffee, malty, slightly boozy. balanced.

T: Nice, caramel, toffee, toasty with a slight hoppy edge.

M: creamy feel, nice carbonation. Heavy feel to the overall beer, but again, followed a HopSlam and a twin-sister DIPA.

O: Would buy more. nice beer.
