Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a footed tulip.
A: Black. Pours a half finger, bubbly, brown head. Settles pretty quickly. Very slight lacing mostly retreats into the body of the brew.
S: Roasted espresso, dark chocolate, licorice, molasses, and pecan... I guess.
T: Roasted coffee is prominent. Pecans are also very prominent. Subtle inklings of other accentuates available in the nose.
M: Roasty and hearty. Syrupy, and a little boozy. Slightly bitter, liquory aftertaste lingers on the palate.
D: Sip and enjoy.
Atmosphere is pretty good. Slight head and very little lacing. Nose is roasted coffee, chocolate, licorice, and molasses mostly. The pecans come out in the flavor along with the coffee, but very little of the other components are evident. Overall, this is a pretty good quaff.

This beer pours an opaque black with a nice amount of dark tan head, leaves a little bit of lacing, looks solid.
On the nose you can pick up on a sweet and nutty pecan pie aroma, its got way more sweetness than I would have expected, no hops or boozyness detected.
Flavor wise its got a nice sweet start and a really roasty and nutty finish.. I can pick up on a little bit of bready malt somewhere in the middle. Has a smokey aftertaste that lingers on the tongue inbetween sips
Its substantially thick for a porter, which I really like.
Overall, exactly what I expected from clown shoes, a solid offering, really interesting porter.
