22oz bomber poured into a pint glass 9/1/13, bottled 11/13/12.
Pour: Dark brown, with a decent foamy head, though that disappears rather quickly.
Aroma: Nice dark malt notes; baker's chocolate, vanilla, a touch of coffee, and a little bit of bitterness that seems to attach to the chocolate.
Taste: Matches the aroma, with big chocolate flavors right up front, but the bitterness attached has a slight hint of hop flavor as well. There's also a good amount of vanilla flavoring, and sweet pecan in the background.
Overall: At first, this beer is spectacular, but as it warms, it adds no complexity, and perhaps loses some flavor, fading into a mouthful of baker's chocolate and little else. Still, worth the venture.
I wish I had also had one of these last November for comparison.

22 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Poured dark brown, nearly black, with a light brown head. The head soon reduces to a durable partial coat and ring. Moderate lacing.
Smells sweet and delicious. Some pecan pie filling with cinnamon. Moderately strong. Only faint grains.
Less sweet than it smells, there's a solid layer of medium and dark roasted grains with a bit of caramel and dark chocolate. A hint of roasted pecans, but wuite faint, as is the coffee in the finish. Near equal sweet/bitter by the finish. Nice nutty/malty aftertaste.
Medium body; very good carbonation level; very smooth; dry finish.
O: Lightly boozy nose and feel, but still drinks like 4-5% ABV brew. A distinct, remarkably smooth Amer. Porter. Recommended.
