A -Pitch black with khaki head

S - Watered down milk chocolate. Hint of vanilla and oak. Bourbon cancelled out the chili pepper aspect.

T - When I first cracked the bottle and had a drink, I didn't think it was half bad. Probably only because I was worried the chili peppers would burn my throat. They didn't, which is why I was so pleased with the taste. Repeated sips yielded just a mess. Chocolate was watery and the bourbon wasn't sweet. A bit of burn in the throat from the chili. Basically, all these flavors didn't mix together well at all.

M - Not very thick for the style. Again watered down.

O - All of these flavors didn't go together nicely. While you do taste each one on it's own, I would say they didn't blend. Aftertaste still lingers after a while and it's not one you want around. I couldn't finish the bomber. One of my few drainpours.

A: poured into a snifter to a thick black beer with a finger of dense tan head that fades to a collar around the edge of the glass
S: smells of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, caramel and some roasted malt
T: taste is chocolate, peppers, bourbon, vanilla, and roasted malt. swallow is chocolate, caramel and bourbon with some pepper heat
M: this beer is full in the mouth with soft carbonation that sits smooth and creamy on the palate. the beer has a neutral finish that leans toward being a bit drying
O: Overall a very impressive beer. the bourbon flavor is there without overpowering and the peppers are a nice addition.

Bottled 2/25/14. Drank on 5/5/14. $14.99 bomber.

Appearance: Very dark brew. Maybe a small ring of a head but not much. Some legs running down the glass as you drink

Smell: Fantastic. You get dark chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and spice (cinnamon maybe more).

Feel: nice fool body beer. Not to creamy but not thin. It's somewhere in the middle of BB imperial stout thickness. Not as thick and syrupy as Bourbon county stuff, the Bourbon barrel didn't seem to add to much thickness.

Taste: Dark chocolate hits me first. Then you get some of the spices mixed with the vanilla/bourbon/oak flavors. I personally thought this beer was fantastic. It doesn't have as much spice as Huna (which tasted like a chocolate covered churro) but it adds in complexity from the barrel aging, peppers, coffee, and chocolate. Speaking of peppers, I didn't get any heat from them. I think I got some flavor from the ancho peppers.

Overall: This one was right up my alley. At $15 a bomber it is competitive with other BB bombers and well worth it. I ended up going to my bottle shop and getting the last one after I drank mine. Personally, this is now one of my favorite beers and I love that it doesn't fly off the shelf like KBS.
