A: poured into a tulip to a deep and hazed orange with a finger of dense off white head that leaves good lacing but lacks retention
S: smells of orange marmalade , tropical fruit, and some caramel
T: taste is citrus, pineapple, a little caramel sweetness at times and the swallow is dank and resinous pine and citrus
M: This beer sits on the heavier side of medium with soft carbonation and a refreshing oily hop finish
O: This beer has good hop flavors and the slightest bit of malt balance to try and bring things back in line. It's well made and tastes great. It's sure to please a hop head but the brash finish makes it a little too harsh for people not into the style.

Dateless 12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip. Dark copper color with a frothy and moderately retentive beige head that leaves a huge, solid sheet of lacing.

Massively juicy aroma. Tropical and citrus fruits. Peach and passion fruit aromas indicate the heavy use of Galaxy hops in here. Caramel notes show with lightly bready and toffee aromas. No noticeable alcohol aromas.

Flavor is surprisingly sweet, between the caramel/toffee and slightly honey-like flavors. Nonetheless, it is definitely still a hop-forward beer. Only a slight touch of bitterness, but tons of big, fruity, southern hemisphere hops, particularly what tastes like candied peaches (which seems like a wonderful idea for a dessert). Dry and relatively (for a DIPA) balanced finish. Only the slightest alcoholic taste.

Medium-heavy bodied with good carbonation. Just a little chewy, but not sticky. A small amount of alcohol warmth.

Overall, this is a little fruitier than I generally prefer in a DIPA, but it is very pleasant. The tropical fruitiness from the Galaxy hops combine with the malts to give it a bit of a sweet, but definitely not cloying flavor. Relatively balanced and it deceptively hides its ABV.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on July 25, 2014.

The pour is amber-copper with a lingering, silk of-white head Some lacing. Sedimentary bits floating about.

The aroma is very pungent and strong with caramel and butterscotch malts and earthy, resiny, floral hops pounding my senses.

Medium body with a slick, chewy texture.

Then there are those barley malts again jumping into the flavor with the earthy bitterness falling in right behind and coating my tongue with a lingering finish. 8% but no alcohol burn.
