12 oz brown bottle with pry off cap poured in a nonic pint glass. Purchased in New Orleans.

Hazy, orange/amber/copper in colour. Off-white head is big and foamy on the pour, over 1 inch in height. Big gobs of lacing down the side.

Aroma is fresh and fruity with some caramel in the background.

Flavour is dominated by alcohol. Burns my tongue a little actually. Fairly well balanced between the hops and malt, but the hops win out in the end. Citrus and floral.

Medium bodied but a little oily and the alcohol burn is forefront.

Just looking at and smelling this beer had me almost foaming at the mouth, but then I took a sip and the alcohol is just too strong.

12oz bottle
L - very hazy, rusty colored ale with a frothy ivory head
S - fresh, dank piny hops, bready malt, caramel
T - huge malt profile up front with bread, caramel, brown sugar; piny earthy spicy hops, faint grapefruit-orange citrus for hops
F - fuller body, creamy yet resinous, finishes fairly balanced, which I appreciate
O - missing any sort of wow factor, but this is a very solid DIPA

Pours a hazy golden copper with a billowing, frothy cream head that slowly dissipates, leaving sticky lacing.

Toasted bread, sweet caramel malt, and resin open the aroma. Pine and muted citrus add complexity.

Flavor reveals more citrusy notes, which reside on a slightly sweet, bready malt backbone. The finish is toasted and nutty, slightly bitter, with a reprise of citrus in pith form. Grapefruit and pine weave throughout the profile. Floral hops surface in the aftertaste.

Body is a touch full, with carbonation on the low side, and noted alcohol warmth.

Very well balanced dipa, between malt, flavoring, and bittering hops. Not reminiscent of a typical American ipa because of the muted citrus and floral hop character, but very drinkable.
