The Good Life is the premier spot on LI to get a pint in my eyes. The bar is pretty big with 3 distinct sections...a bar area, tables for food (which is mighty tasty), and another section for private events. The taplist always has a host of great beers and if something cool comes to LI, it will always appear at the Good Life. I make it a point to show up for many of their tapping events and as a result have gotten to try many fine brews on tap that I didn't think would ever make it to LI. Quality is top notch, service is great, and I've met and shared some brew with Pete and he is one of the nicest guys and really fun to talk beer with. On the flip side, this is my go-to spot for brunch on LI when I bring my baby daughter. During the day on the weekends, you can get a pint, a great meal, and be in a family friendly atmosphere.

Great place, the atmosphere would suggest a neighborhood bar, nothing pretentious yet the beer list would be well worth it even if it was some sort of pretentious gastropub.

The staff is great, I'm not a local, have only been here on 3 occassions yet have been remembered on each visit after the first. The manager is a certified beer geek and always has something unique buried in his cellar. First time here I had a pour of HF Twilight of the Idols, thats impressive for a bar on Long Island

The food is good, fun pub grub nothing too fancy

Highly recommended if you're on Long Island, best tap selection in the area in my opinion

My friends had been trying to get me to make the trip here and I was very happy I did. Located on the west side of Park Blvd the atmosphere is an homage to the English pub. Tons of brewerania inside with dark wood and a warm ambience. The place is very popular with an easy-going crowd inside. The food is interesting pub fare and quite good. The beer selection is excellent with heavy tap rotation and a nice clear chalkboard detailing the beers above the bar, including ABV. Always a major plus in any establishment. Absolutely worth a visit if anywhere nearby.

Great Place! That would be my whole review. I didn't have dinner, but I had four appitizers, of which three were fantastic! The other was good, but needed some more spice.
The beer list was excellent! I have been here a few times and the tap list is nothing short of impressive. Of course there were a couple of dogs on tap that they probably got a deal on, but other than that...Stellar!
The guy at the bar seemed to really know his beer, and made some solid suggestions. He got me to try a couple of beers I hadn't had. The waitress was very nice, and was on top of things.
I'll be back, and you should go!

I have been to the Good Life three times since moving to LI 2 1/2 yrs ago, twice for dinner and once for brunch. The selection here is fantastic and extra points are earned for always having some locals on tap, even from smaller up-and-comers like Barrier Brewing in Oceanside. The atmosphere is great, although as others have mentioned, my preference is during brunch or at least earlier in the evening before the large night crowds arrive. Brunch and early evening are also fairly kid-friendly if you needed that option, as my wife and I came here with our 11-month old son and had no issues. Assorted tap handles surrounding the bar area and assorted brewery tin tackers add to a very cool "man cave" atmosphere by the bar. This is exactly how I would decorate a beer bar if I owned one. The food menu is interesting, with some UK classics like Bangers and Mashed mixed in with modern twists on classics like pork chops with root beer demi-glaze. In the three times I have ate here I have not had anything that I disliked, but also nothing blew me away, although my Prime Minister paired with a Racer X on tap for brunch was dynamite. Bartenders are knowledgeable, wait staff is slightly less, but not clueless by any means. Overall, if you are a beer geek on LI, you have to check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

I visited The Good Life on a Saturday afternoon with BA's BOBPINCH666 & emdawg. We didn't eat anything we just had a beer while seated at the bar area. They also have outdoor seating which is good in the nice weather. It was a quiet and comfortable place to sit and talk while enjoying a beer. The tap list was good and the prices were fair. There was a guy at the bar eating a burger with his bottle of Bud and he seeemed to be enjoying it so I gave the food a '4'.
I'll probably go back with my wife for dinner sometime and change my review if need be.

Ate at this fine establishment several weeks ago, ad the food was very good. The beer selesction is fantastic, and they offer flights of different beer styles as well. Nice atmosphere, and the waitress knew her beer! Very knowledgable and willing to help you with your decision. I have a steak sandwich, cooked well, and the fries were great. I had a local DIPA which was out of this world. They had a bunch of beers on tap, and also had bottles/cans. Will definately be returning! If you are in the area, you need to go and check it out.

I want to preface this review by saying that I was here with a couple of BAs who are regulars at this bar and good friends with the owner. So my experience may not be representative of the norm. Nevertheless here we go...

I was here on a Saturday night so the bar and restaurant areas were packed as was the outside seating. The place is pretty typical but its one of the few on Long Island that really cater to the craft beer crowd and it shows with banners and posters of various different breweries on the wall so that's appreciated.

Beers were served at the proper temperature and in the proper glassware and they even gave us extra glasses for sharing purposes.

The service was amazing. Menus were given to us quickly, the food was prepared in a timely manner, and most importantly, the beer was served almost as soon as we ordered them. All while the bar was packed with people.

Selection is decent for the area. About 15 craft selections on tap as well as a decent bottle list. This is about as good as it gets given the location. The owner also obviously knows his stuff, offering a variety of different breweries and styles as well as the easy-to-find Belgians that seem to be a mainstay at bars to cater to those who aren't really into beer but would like to try something sweet and interesting at the same time.

The food was tasty. I got the New England Clam Chowder that was served with a pastry puff for dipping purposes. Delicious! I was also able to try the tuna and Chicken Tikka Masala. While they weren't the best I've had, considering that its technically "bar food", it was very very solid.

Prices were expensive but reasonable for the area. About $12-$15 for an entree on average and $7-$9 for a pint.

Definitely worth a visit as this bar is one of the premier craft destinations in Nassau county. In an area that really doesn't focus too heavily on craft and is mostly filled with sports bars and "bro bars", this is a must for any BA visiting the area.

Went with a couple of friends who knew I would like this.

The place is a beer drinker's heaven. Two dozen beers on tap and a bottle list with plenty of rares and a great mix of imports and domestic.

The servers all use the proper glassware and are knowledgeble. Very impressive!

I had a DFH 90 minute IPA, Celebrator Dopplebock, and an Arcadia Cocoa Loco on nitro tap. All were fresh and tasty.

Food selections are a little pricey, but reasonable and good. The reason you are here is for beer. And its wonderful.

Overall this place is top notch and I will be coming back... often.

The good life is a great place to go, I've been here a few times with friends from out of town, they love it.

The beer selection is great and always changing. They have a wide variety of bottles and the taps feature local, domestic and foreign brews. Its a really great place to go to grab a beer, and they have awesome food too! The food is a bit pricey buy its no big, the beer is reasonably priced and thats whats important. The bartenders are all knowledgeable as well as the waiters and waitresses.

This is a great local pub/restaurant with a nice selection of craft brews. What makes The Good Life stand out is its knowledgable staff that are eager to answer any questions and free with their suggestions based on your likes and dislikes. Great food to go with great brews. It has a nice restaurant area as well as a very nice bar area for your enjoyment. I was as comfortable going with the family for a bite to eat as I was to go up and sample some of the newer selections. Loving the fact that it's just around the corner from the family business.

Good food? Great beer? No problem. This place has everything you want in a gastropub experience. The Good Life features a spacious bar on one side of the entrance and a partitioned dining room on the other. TVs are posted up all around for those who are looking to watch a game.

A restaurant is doing many things right when the owner introduces himself to you as you're enjoying your meal and the waitresses are sweet and attentive.

The beer selection is vast and ever-changing. There are tons of bottles and the taps feature local, other domestic and foreign choices, the majority of which are super impressive. I was so excited to see a few Cigar City offerings on the tap list last week. I'm glad I got to finally try some! Couldn't think of a better place.

I'm vegetarian, bordering on veganism. The black bean burger is killer, and their tater tots are just fun. The samosas are delicious ... wash them down with something dark and roasty!

As long as I'm living in L-hurst, I will be at this place often.

Delirium Tremen's and Gulden Draak on tap, maybe my favorite part about this place. It's up to you but they top off the delirium with St. Louis Framboise....they call it "The Pink Elephant" I thought it was good but it does make it a bit too fruity, I suggest try it and see what you think. The bar and restaurant area are not very large in size. I went in on a weekday in the afternoon so it wasn't very busy but that didn't matter, I was interested in trying a few different beers. They have 20 beers on tap behind the bar and they list them on a chalk board above it. 2 Larger taps right on the bar which I was told hadn't changed since they opened (Delirium and Draak) The ABV is listed on the chalk board next to each beer in big numbers so you are aware of the alcohol content in that beer. I didn't have dinner but the appetizers that I had were very good. If this place was closer to my house, I would be their more often, wish it weren't so far away. This place is definitely worth your time!

Located on the main downtown drag of Massapequa Park. A nice corner lot, walking distance from the train station.

The layout of the place was impressive. The spacious bar area was to the left and featured a 15 foot bar with seating for approximately a dozen. There was plenty of tables within the bar area as well. A nice area to dine in an upscale gastro pub atmosphere. There was plenty of tin beer signs adorning the walls.

The dining area was to the right and featured a multi tiered layout, with a rear room that provides privacy with the simple pull of the room dividing curtain. There was seating fro well over 50 diners. The dining area featured beautiful stone walls and rich tones.

The draft list included 22 craft and high end import taps. All beer were served in its proper glasswear.

Congratulations to Pete and everyone at The Good Life for assembling this upscale pub experience.

The Good Life is a cool craft beer bar nestled in the confines of Maasapequa Park's rows of stores, just 2 blocks north of Sunrise Highway and the elevated railroad station that runs parallel to it. Built in the same northern Californian style as The Lark in East Northport, NY by the same designer, the dark paneled bar & grill exudes a warmth and welcome to all who may enter the building, which is divided into three sections: bar, open dining, and booths.

What drew me into The Good Life was its owner, Pete, who had established The Lark in East Northport earlier last year in connection with TJ Finely's of Bayshore, NY. I had heard he was working on a new place and as it opened to thirsty crowds without any advertising, I darkened the door with a local friend to see how the place had turned out.

The beer menu was impressive in its diversity as well as its reach with American craft beers mixed with imports on 20+ taps and 99 different labels of beer. My first beer was a Founder's "Dirty Bastard" followed by a 750ml of Abbaye de Bon Chien and both were served in the correct glassware for their styles. I'm used to getting shaker pints for everything in many of LI's bars...

Pete came over and re-introduced himself to me and my friend Dan as we were lounging with two platters of wings, which I found to be very good. As we talked about his place and my interest in bringing my home brewers group in for a night, I noted the "bottle of indecision" on the side of the bar. It was a large growler filled with numbers corresponding to any beer in the bar (a fun decision making device for those who cannot decide with all the great beers there).

As I looked around, I noted a few BMC type of beers in bottles, and it came to me that the place was oriented in welcoming all to introduce them to great beers. The informative and friendly bar staff was ready to give out tastes of new beers and they acted with the comforting approach as if the customer was an old friend they hadn't seen in a while.

The Good Life is the type of place Nassau County and the south western side of LI has been craving for years that mixes a good kitchen with a great bar and works continuously to improve upon itself. Unlike its big competitor in Farmingdale, where the bartenders couldn't explain the difference between an IPA and Russian Imperial Stout, or the wait staff is more preoccupied with their latest text message, The Good Life is great place that will no doubt inspire other real beer bars to flourish in the area.
