The enormous head is beige and compact. It sinks slowly leaving lots of thick lacing. The cloudy liquid is gold-orange (17 EBC).
The smell is hoppy and a bit tart. Rough yeasty and malty notes, some smooth sweetness. Hints of toffee and flowers. Some plastic notes in the background.
The taste is bitter with quite a lot of green peas and other boiled vegetables. Pale malts gives some sweetness. The flavours are rough like they are supposed to be, but they are maybe a bit too rough? Bread, more vegetables, hints of matured cheese. The body is light. The aftertaste is surprisingly short with some bitter, almost metallic, hops, unclean yeasty notes and a smooth sweetness.
The carbonation is medium strong, the mid-sized bubbles short lived. The liquid is a bit dry.
A hoppy California common. An quite an unclean one, too.

A 25 cl short-necked bottle with a twist-off-cap from a Swedish micro-brewery. That must be a first...
A: Slightly hazy deep golden pour with a rather small white head, a bit airy. Only some lacings.
S: Bready, grassy, grainy. Lots of floral hops; elder and lots of citric notes. Rather rich in bitter hops as well.
T: Lots of both bitter and floral hops up front; citric notes, but also some elder-flowers. Lots of bready malt, at least a pinch must be caramell. Much more bitter than what the smell led me to believe - NICE.
M: Long, really long bitter aftertaste. Body is medium while carbonaton is on the milder side for the style. Very refreshing.
O: This is a robust beer, but still refreshing. More complex than other Steam beers I've had earlier. The bitter hops made all the difference.
