Great employees, and get SUPER rare kegs every now and then, but not the hugest selection in the world. Most of their beers are widely available. the best part would be their growler selection which usually has at least a couple exclusive/hard to find brews. Very friendly staff and worth supporting, just not the best selection in the world.

Definitely the best craft beer spot in Greenville! Been shopping here since they first opened and have had nothing but top quality growler fills and fresh bottles. The owner and staff are super friendly and are always willing to help out with choosing the right brew or wine for whatever the occasion. With the addition of being able to drink a pint on site and enjoy a variety of food trucks for many lunch and dinners, Community Tap solidified themselves as the front runner in "spot to run by even though I've got plenty of craft brews at home" as well as the regular go to spot for picking up the weekly stash!

My favorite place in Greenville to soak up the suds. They always are bringing in great things to put on their line (right now they have Mephistopheles, they've had mexi cake, hopslam, etc) They also have a big selection of bottles both domestic and imports. AND they have a nice selection of wine and a wine tap, which is perfect for my girlfriend who isn't always wanting a beer like me. The space is roomy and open with a great bar and outside patio. They don't serve food but do a great job bringing in food trucks and you can bring your food inside. They also have a great app that constantly shows whats coming in and whats on tap. Wonderful spot!

This is a great beer store. One negative would be that it was a little under stocked. They do not offer a lot of beer, but the quality is there. They also have a really nice lounge/tasting room in the back to enjoy one of their dozen beers on tap. Growlers are also available, which is a huge plus.
This place is a little on the outskirts of town, not within walking distance of anything, so driving is a must. I will definitely be stopping back the next time in Gville.

In town visiting friends this last weekend, and this place (which I have been wanting to visit since it opened) is just down the street from their new house. Hurray for me! Stopped in the first night to grab a growler of something. They had about 10 taps for growler fills (no consumption on premise), all of which were standout beers. We grabbed a growler of Avery Maharajah. A guy and a girl were working at the time. Both were friendly, but not overly helpful. Great selection of bottles here. The Belgian section was what first stood out to me. Those aren't usually my 'cup of beer,' but I was impressed with what was available. Great to see a lot of different breweries represented than I can't find in the Northern Carolina. Prices were decent. And the vibe/presentation was very cool. I will definitely be back to this place when we visit again.

[Side note, if you are visiting and find yourself at this store, make your way across the street to Henry's Smokehouse for some BBQ. You will not regret it.]

A little out of the way on the north side of town(for a visitor anyway). Parking is easy though.
Away from the tourism of downtown, certainly a place to hang out with a more local flair.

Two guys working were eager to help.
Wish they stayed open later during the week however. Was staying in Simpsonville for work, had to hussle up just to get a half our visit. The seating area is what made this place different from the exchange downtown. Doesn't have the volume and breadth of selection, but plenty of interesting stuff. Belgian selection was large, which though not my thing, was impressive. When out of town I'm looking to find things I can't get, which there wasn't a ton of other than said Belgians. There draft selection for consumption/growlers was excellent, though another thing I've not been getting because a growler is just too much volume for me.

Great beer store near downtown Greenville. Ten growler stations with killer picks, very reasonably priced. They just started offering 32oz growlers, which makes it easier to try a wider variety, or try something higher in alcohol. Nice selection of bottles -- local breweries, Belgians, and special release stuff. Very nicely arranged store with plenty of space. Even some nice wine selections if you're into that. It's at least a 30 minute drive for me, but this is where I buy most of my beer these days. Great bunch of guys working there who are eager to help and offer suggestions.

TCT takes the lions share of credit for bringing quality growlers to Greenville. Mike and Ed are both top shelf beer and wine geeks and go way out of their way to get what you need. I love that they've got tastings from major and local craft breweries and are constantly expanding their selection-- they don't have the largest selection in town, but every bottle they stock is quality.

So if you're cruising through G'Vegas down 385- they are 1 mile from the Bilo Center. Stop in and you won't regret it!

Nice shop that opened up over the summer of 2010 right outside of Downtown Greenville. It is really easy to access and park, which is a huge bonus.

They have 10 rotating taps for growler fills, usually from $10 to $20 depending on the beer. Plenty of shelf space gives good offerings all across the board.

They usually do tastings every week or so as well. Mike and Ed are two really friendly guys who can make a recommendation if you need it, or just help serve you if you want.

I recommend the Community Tap and hope they do continue to do well for themselves and the craft beer scene here in Greenville.

Relaxed atmosphere and knowledgeable staff promote leisurely browsing of the stock at this fairly new establishment. I studiously browsed before and after a fine tasting session held at the back of this rather small venue. The bottle (and micro-brewery can) selection is moderate, and with few kept on refrigeration, but the variety and overall quality is quite good. Beer aficionados will have no trouble finding some favorites here as well as some untried brews. But there is more ...

The Tap also has taps -- i.e., a growler filling station. I was delighted to have my growler filled with Founders Breakfast Stout although there were other tempting options. The taps all seem to be on the exotic side, with the most familiar and relatively widely distributed brew I've seen on tap being Bell's Oberon. Apparently rapid turnover at these taps.

Recommended.

A great little find in Greenville.

Located on the edge of downtown, a short drive from Barley's. A little tough to find, especially at night, but worth the effort.

6 taps available for growler fills. Stone VE, Ballast Point Red Eye, Dales Old Chub and Gordon among the choices when I was there. They do a good job of keeping the website up to date with the drafts available.

Excellent selection of bombers and good selection of sixers. Store is not large, but they make up for the smaller selection with quality.

Service is stellar. Ed and Mike know their beer and are happy to make suggestions about new offerings. Also happy to order anything they can get their hands on for you.

Didn't know what exactly to expect when I stopped in, but really glad I did. I get to Greenville about 6 times a year and this will be a regular stop for me on every trip.

Just got back from a family vacation in Greenville, SC and had to post a review on this fine establishment. At the suggestion of another BA member, I worked this into our schedule and dropped by early Saturday afternoon to check out the selection. The place has a nice atmostphere, solid bottle selection, and an equally solid filling station. (Only wish I could have grabbed a growler full of Pumking. Have to love being mid vacation and on a schedule). Picked up a variety of beers from Ballast Point, Allagash, Mikkeller, and Southern Tier. Customer service was excellent as well. After talking with Ed for just a few minutes I felt like a regular. He was able to answer my questions and offer suggestions on some additional brews to try out. I would regularly frequent this place if I lived closer and look forward to the chance to go back and visit. I highly recommend this place to any beer enthusiast.

Found my brother a new favorite place when we visited this weekend. A solid little bottle shop for sure. Their selection is small but the line-up is SOLID. I would anticipate that as they establish their business they will be able to handle higher volume and expand selection. I believe they have only been open for a month or so. Very reasonable grolwer prices. Was told that they are going to start filling 32 oz growlers for the more rare brews. Great service, knowledgeable and friendly. I feel confident in saying that any BA would be happy walking in/out of their place.

One of the nicest beer shops I'v been to. The growler selection is solid as is the bottled. Best of all is the service that you get in addition to the beers. The people here now there beers and are very amenable to giving customers what they want. Prices are a little towards the high end but for the craft selection that they do have I would say that they are completely reasonable. I also appreciate the fact that they are on the forward edge of seasonable beers and the fact they have some solid wines as well. Truly a one stop shop for great beers and a solid addition to Greenville and a must go to.

A very welcome addition to our fine city, Mike and Ed have created a real gem here. Located right off downtown, great spot for me personally as I am coming and going past the place everytime I hit downtown. The small store in the shopping center boasts the best selection of beer this side of asheville. Beyond cool, these guys will talk to you all day n the store, online, on the phone, just cannot say enough about how cool they are as people. True beer lovers.

The store itself has made excellent use of their space and is jam packed with a treasure of great beer. They do not stock anything bad, a wonderful sight. Most any local one offs or limited brews that hit the area can be found here along with every staple I could want. Growler station is the shit, with a constantly rotating selection of goodies that seems to be never ending.

Overall just a great store, soo needed it was not even funny, will be back in tonight!

Perhaps the greatest addition to the Upstate, South Carolina beer culture since Barley's Taproom, The Community Tap is an oasis between the havens that are North Carolina and Georgia.

Ed and Mike are cordial, willing to talk about anything, including all things beer, and are open to insight, input and are extremely excitable about beer culture.

Their beer selection - despite what would appear to be a smallish location - is a veritable treasure trove of refrigerator staples at prices that are extremely reasonable. The true gem, however, is the growler station. Six (6) lovely taps, consistently rotating, covering the gamut of styles. Quickly emptying taps ensures freshness and continually updated options. Speaking of updating, Ed and Mike are fantastic at keeping both their website and Facebook page updated with current taps - and I mean within minutes of changing the barrels. At $3.99 for a growler and reasonable pricing for growler fills, there is no reason not to take part in this.

The Community Tap is a welcome addition to the beer culture in South Carolina and, I am somewhat sorry to say, is something we have needed for some time. With a great and balanced selection, knowledgeable staff and good location, The Community Tap will be a popular stop for the foreseeable future.

Zum wohl.

Got to drop in to see Mike and Ed this afternoon. The store is quite easy to spot from the street with their sign above the door. Walked into a atmosphere and layout similar to CBX but a little more open. Wine was in racks in the center of the store with a shelf lining each wall holding brews. There was also a small chiller that housed some brews. In the back it is setup like a bar with 6 stations for growler fills. Very hard to go wrong here as the bottle selection was quite nice and so were the growler choices at the time. Mike and Ed are awesome guys and love to talk beer and wine, so feel free to hang around and chat. I will definitely be going back to stock up again in the near future.

Brand new store added to the Greenvile area to fill the void of the color named store. Selection was impressive including 3 of the Mikkeller single hop. Shelves were well organized and arranged alphabetically to save tired brain cells from looking around. Growler section was stocked with a great selection for to go beer. There was also a nice wine selection of wine to add to the selection. I am told Ed can answer all your wine questions. After talking to Mike, I feel their selection of beer is headed in the unbelievable direction. Hopefully his wish list will become our reality. Great opening, Great store, and good luck,
