I felt compelled to write a quick review after seeing so many low ratings. I came across this beer when making a pick 6.

I find it has a very light and refreshing taste. I don't find it that sweet compared to other fruit beers. I prefer it over Abita's Purple Haze.

I can't really comment too much on the appearance of the beer as I never poured it out of the bottle but I think others have addressed that sufficiently.

When I want a break from the malty, darker beers that I usually enjoy, this is one I go for.

Poured from a 12oz stubby bottle into a Sam Adams perfect pint.

This one pours a hazy golden color with a tiny head that recendes quickly. Plenty of floaties in this brew. Aroma smells very strongly of raspberries. I wasn't expecting anything else from a brew simply labeled "Raspberry Wheat". The taste is also quite good. It's not nearly as strong on the raspberry as the nose suggests, the wheat is actually what comes through first. Then the raspberries start to come in, with them only coming in strongly on the finish.

The mouthfeel is good, it's crispy and well-carbonated. The drinkability is also quite good. Not sure how a serving larger than 12oz would go through, but it doesn't quite get grating through the first serving. To the poor reviews - I almost question what they were expecting from a "raspberry wheat"? Now, I know first-hand Twisted Pine has some quality control issues that could contribute to a bad review, but I had a good bottle that met my expectations from the label. A solid fruit beer.

Poured from stubby bottle into pint glass.

A - Hazy, yellowish hues. Slight head that dissipates quickly. No lace. Standard wheat beer.

S - Lots of raspberries up front and some wheat. No real hop character.

T & M - Not as sweet as what some of the other reviewers have said. I found this very smooth with a nice balance of wheat and fruit. The raspberry did not overpower the beer and added just enough to be refreshing and offer a nice fruity taste. Nicely carbonated and light-bodied.

Overall - I like this style. One of my favorite styles of beer when I first started my craft beer adventures and I still remember my first Twisted Pine from the Old Chicago tap in Grand Junction, CO. If you like fruit or raspberry wheat beers, this one will not disappoint.

A - Looks good not bright red juice color like Founders version just a regular yellow orange color beer with little to no head. Some haziness.
S - Actually quite good not medicinal or artificial in any way. Not super tart though it had a sort of candy like sweetness to the smell. Little wheat.
T - Not too tart or sweet has a distinct wheat character and some fruit berries which may have been raspberries.
M - Light bodied and easy to quaff back.

Overall it was decent enough to maybe get more but I would much rather have better fruit beers.

A: Poured a light amber color that actually looked more filtered than what you would normally expect from a wheat beer. The head was decent and definitely creamy that lasted a really long time with good amount of lacing on the glass.

S: Smelled like raspberries that were past their prime. I chalked this up to the yeast that was used and it actually isn't as bad as it sounds. There was also some really light wheat undertones.

T: The taste was mostly like a really weak wheat beer with a light raspberry aftertaste. The yeast could have been more pronounced and definitely try not to hide the raspberry flavors if that is what you are going for.

M/D: The feel was light and watered down, lacked any type of sour of bitter feel and didn't really have a bite either. The drinkability is easy but doesn't leave you craving more.

12 oz bottle without a freshness date. Pours a sufficiently hazy, light golden hue with a thick froth of creamy white foam. Pretty nice retention and leaves zero lace on the glass.

The nose has some nice raspberry notes with some sweet graininess. Not a whole lot of wheat tang here and smells just a little bit like a homebrew.

Taste has a decent balance of tart fruit notes and sweet malt with a pretty nice zip from the wheat. It is a well balanced fruit beer that hits some raspberry notes up front and finishes crisp and dry. The main problem with the beer is that it's over-carbonated. The bubbles even foam in the mouth upon drinking. A few swirls of the glass fixes that for the most part though. Pretty decent fruit wheat beer here, an easy drinking summertime thirst-quencher.
