Pour as black as night.

Received a 4.0 on appearance due to an almost non-existent head. Poured aggressively and still nothing...

Taste was exceptional. Roasted chocolate malts... very sweet, creamy and chewy. Had a milky smooth feel in the mouth. The alcohol was very well hidden. Hops, bitterness, and sourness were all present, but hardly noticeable and were all overpowered by the intensely sweet malts.

This was an excellent beer. Warmed me up while watching the snow fall outside.

This one pours a pure black to rival the darkness of the devil's soul. The head is thin and short lived with a nice dark tan color that leaves a good lacing down the glass.

The nose is is fine blending of chocolate, bourbon, coffee, bread and delicious hop overtones.

The taste is extremely complex and rich with strong notes of alcohol that ride on a sweet malted bed of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and well blended hops.

The moutfeel is an appropriate richness for this beer as well and works perfectly for this particular style.

Overall this is an exceptional Imperial Porter and I am really enjoying it. I will enjoy having it again another day.

Nice black complexion gave way to a powerful stout and firm head that fluttered away rather quickly.

The aroma was dank, musty and reminded me of the scent from an old dusty home. There was some prune and date aroma near the back but overall it was rather poor.

This is a beer better served warm as it held little taste at cold temperatures. Warmer it opened to a dry chocolate malt, with some dark fruits and a stripe of caramel sweetness.

This had a super light and easy smoothness with little to no carbonated sensation.

I have no idea why the scent didn't change as it got warmer as the taste certainly did. If it had the score could have been higher.

Appearance - For the style, the color is spot on, but the head is a bit light.
Smell - There is a lack of smell. There is a hint of roast, but it is even very light.
Taste - There is some slight bitterness and its slightly roasty and malty. A tad boozy, but underwhelming.
Mouthfeel - The feel is a bit light, but ok.
Overall - Nothing is very "imperial" about this beer.

Jet-black body topped with a light tan head. Slightly tangy aroma mixed with roasted grains and mint-chocolate notes. Rich chocolate flavors; good bitterness throughout the taste; charred grains; nice alcohol warmth. Medium bodied, semi-sweet with a dry finish.

A deep, dark, robust dark beer with corresponding tastes and smells. Bitterness and alcohol notes slightly trump the malt sweetness, yet everything seems to fit well together based on the style. This beer reminds me like a lot of the really good northern European dark beers: bold and complex. Well worth taking a plunge into the depths...
